Reviews of La Mixteca Poblana
"Best tacos in town with plenty of customizable options for toppings from traditional to contemporary. My personal favourite is the Mixteco which has steak, pork & chorizo which I get with cheese, cilantro, onion and hot sauce. Fantastic prices as well as a good selection of drinks including Mexican sodas."
"Hands down, the best taco place around. Always fresh, made to order, super nice, bringing real authentic Mexican food from family recipe to all of us. Love this place."
"*hidden food truck* Me and my son stopped by for lunch. I ordered the birria tacos and my kid ordered two tacos one beef one chicken and a burrito. While ordering they asked if we wanted a pineapple and spinach juice. My first thought was WTH?? But I got them and they were sooooo good! I used to juice and the drink tasted like fresh juiced pineapple. My son liked it but said it had an aftertaste that he didnt like. But anyways the birria tacos were really flavorful and good BUT I still think its missing something. My son's tacos were fresh and ok. But that burrito he got!!!! I was soooooo mad I didn't get one!! It was huge and flavourful!!! This is definitely going to be a place I visit often. It's located right next to the McDonald's."
"This is my go to Mexican place for lunch. It's a food truck but the food is great. The tacos are good, burritos are huge and the torta I got was massive. They have daily specials too that can save some cash. Even when not on sale most items are reasonable. They get busy at lunch sometimes but it's not usually long to get your food. Today I got the birra tacos (pictured) and it came with an Agua Fresca. The meat was good with no fat or weird bits at all I think it's shredded beef and it's already seasoned. Came with a soup for dipping that was fairly spicy with a beefy cilantro flavor. The Agua Fresca was interesting .. kind of a floral milky drink. Not familiar with it I'm afraid but pretty enjoyable. I also got an extra bistek Taco with red sauce. The steak was tender and lean and the sauce was actually not as spicy as usual. I have to say sometimes it's scorching hot (which I like) other times not."
"Parking was easy once you find the place on the side of the gas station back by the U hauls. This is a small food truck tucked in the cut over by Peoples Plaza. The have a couple long picnic tables back there, so you can eat your food right there. Service was great, I got everything I needed in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the lemonade agua fresca. This was cold, refreshing, not too tart, and not too sweet. Could've maybe used some vodka...JK...or am I? I ordered Torta milenesa de pollo: Chicken prepared with beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, jalapenos and oaxaca cheese. It was grilled, not breaded, and nothing really stood out to me on this one. The bread was a bit doughy and fluffy. It needed some time on the flat top to bring out some of that crispiness that we all love on the inside and outside of tortas. I'd say this one was not on my list to revisit. I ordered a chicken tamale with the green sauce. The chicken was super dry, the masa was moist, and on the salty side of the spectrum. I wasn't really into it. I ordered tacos choosing lengua, chorizo, pastor, and steak. Lengua...seasoned perfectly, great flavor. The double tortillas tried to dry it out, but couldn't. This was one of the better lengua tacos I've had. The tortillas were just ok. Chorizo...no char, but very tasty, with a little spicy heat on the back end. I dropped to 1 tortilla for the rest. Pastor...seasoned well, flavor all day in this one, loaded with meat to the max. I'd recommend you do a pastor burrito here. Next time I will. Steak...marinated flawlessly, excellent steak work. An overall great comeback because of the tacos."
