Reviews of Hank's Place - Kennett
"Very popular eatery with the locals. Meat omelette w/mushrooms good.Infact the mushrooms are very good"
"Great, cozy place to eat. Casual, tasteful atmosphere, delicious food and very friendly, attentive, accommodating staff. Hope they keep this location open after they rebuild in their original spot! A must stop in the area and even for me, out of state. Can't wait to come back!"
"We came here on the recommendation that they had the best meatloaf. We came to find out that they do not have meatloaf on the menu because they don't serve dinner anymore. That however, is not the reason for the low rating. There were multiple issues with our meals. Starting off with soup - I and another person in our party ordered their mushroom soup. It came and it was barely lukewarm and very thick and gloppy. We had to send it back. When it came back it was piping hot, in fact it was so hot we couldn't eat it for a while. It was literally bubbling so I'm sure that it was microwaved. Two people in our party got the lunch special of baked macaroni and cheese. It was described as having a buttery crumb topping. When it came there was no crumb topping and it was very apparent that it was not baked. Also the cheese used tasted very much like plain American cheese. Another person in a party got a hamburger, which they only ate half of. I got the roasted beet salad, which sounded very good - roasted beets, strawberries, walnuts, goat cheese, and arugula with a strawberry balsamic dressing. When it came it looked appealing but when I tasted it the beets were just a step above canned beets, they were sliced in rounds and the dressing which was billed as a strawberry balsamic, was not very flavorful and also not very much of it. When our meals came out they were delivered by food runners who had no idea who was to get what dish. So they did what somebody dubbed "the meal auction." Our main waiter (The one that took our order and brought drink refills) had no idea that we had to send our soup back. There were seven of us in our dining party and I believe five of us were dissatisfied with our meals. The two that weren't had breakfast items so maybe this place is good for breakfast but I definitely would not recommend it for lunch."
"Try the mushroom soup. It's the best around town! This is the best little local restaurant that re-located to this location in KSquare since Hank's in Chadd's Ford at Rte 100 & 1 got flooded during last big storm there. Been coming to Hank's for many years - but, we truly miss the old owners, especially Voula."
"Hadn't been to Hank's Place since they were flooded out of their old building. Went a while back with a couple of friends on a friday for lunch. Maybe it was an off-day, but we asked for something other than raised tables in the center of the room and waited quite a while. I ordered the shrimp Po'Boy and was pretty disappointed (I should know better than to order one outside of Louisiana). The shrimp were battered, fried, and old) and the roll wasn't properly dressed (lettuce, tomato, and a drizzle of mayo). My friends all had standard fare and said it was acceptable. I'll definitely try again and revise this review if warranted."
