Reviews of Angel of the Sea
"BEWARE: I have rented the entire top floor if the main house for last 5 February breaks. This year, some of us had conflicts I canceled our reservation (a month and a half before our dates.) I was charged a cancellation fee of $35 on my credit card. When speaking to management, he says "We have to cover our fees." They would not return my money. Why are they charging my card in the first place? I haven't stayed there yet! I have loved the tradition of spending part of my February break but will now think twice about Angel. I was very disappointed they chose to handle this situation in this way. Terrible policy."
"I’m not sure how people are giving 5 stars here but this place was so filthy. Must be a lot of FAKE 5 star reviews because this place was horrible. First off, I called to book a room and the women asked me if I wanted ocean view. I said yes. Well don’t be fooled. The windows are set very low so you have to literally duck down while looking all the way to The left to see some water. Windows were also dirty. What a joke. Also, our room was on the top floor. They have an old AC in the wall that barely worked. We sweated all night. We went to put on the over head fan and it was loaded with dust. Bathroom was equally filthy. Not a good experience for an enormous amount of money."
"We visited during the Christmas season and it's beautifully decorated. We stayed in Room #19 with a king bed (super comfy mattress) and an extra large shower built for... 2. Wink, wink. Their breakfast is DIVINE! I had a platter of fresh fruit, and you can choose a muffin or a parfait and then for the entrees (I know, it kept going) a quiche or French toast or Belgium waffle with a side of meat. And then! Yes, there's more. In the afternoon around 4pm they have "Tea & Treats" and then at 6pm they offer "Wine & Antipasti". I mean, where else gives you this much food as part of your stay?? Everyone was super friendly. And it's super close to the beach if you're in season."
"**Our stay at the Angel of the Sea bed and breakfast** We had a great Father's Day weekend at the Angel of the Sea bed and breakfast. The rooms were amazing, with a charming Victorian décor that made us feel like we were transported back to the early 1900s. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed and breakfast was located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the beach. Our only complaint was the breakfast. The food was bland and uninspired, and we could tell that some of it was frozen. We would have appreciated more fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Overall, we had a positive experience at the Angel of the Sea, but we would not return without some improvements to the breakfast. Here are some specific things we liked and disliked about our stay: **Liked:** * The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. * The staff was friendly and helpful. * The bed and breakfast was located in a quiet neighborhood. * There was a short walk to the beach. **Disliked:** * The breakfast was bland and uninspired. * Some of the food was frozen. * There was no variety in the breakfast menu. Overall, we would recommend the Angel of the Sea bed and breakfast to others, but we would advise them to skip the breakfast and eat elsewhere."
"We were happily surprised! Really good service and awesome food! We arrived and had tea time (with snacks) and talked all the way until it was time for wine and cheese. We never needed dinner! Breakfast was really fun with good options as well. In addition, I loved the bikes, the location, and charming lights on the home at night. Our room was fine, with a great balcony. I would prefer a more simple decor, but the flowery wallpaper/bedspreads seems to be pretty common at bed and breakfasts. I think updating some of the doors and blinds would be a good addition to an already wonderful property!"
