"Dr. Fontana is a very good Periodontist but I am very unhappy that his office doesn't accept my insurance and I have to pay out of network costs. I have a very good dental plan and pay a very high amount monthly. He just doesn't want to come down on his costs and accept many insurance plans. He's very good and he knows it. If you want something done by him, you're going to have to pay for it. Not very happy!!!"

"Very nice staff, and I had a very short wait once I checked in. Dr. Fontana was very helpful with my initial evaluation. Kristin did my deep cleaning and scaling and made an unpleasant procedure a little easier for me. I highly recommend them to others!"

"Dr. Fontana provides fine medical service. However, I am unhappy with how the office staff handled an issue with insurance. I was told while I was in the chair after being referred to the practice by my dentist, I was told that I needed a biopsy; which was terrifying. Months later I received a bill from the lab because apparently, biopsies are billed under medical insurance (I was not aware of this at the time). Because I didn’t know this, I did not have a referral to have it covered by my medical insurance. When I contacted the office to see if there was any assistance they could offer, even just a way to help navigate the insurance, they stated that biopsies are always billed to medical insurance. I asked why I wasn’t told that and the staff person flippantly replied, “you provided an insurance card, so the assumption should hav been that we would have billed your insurance.”. I said I didn’t understand the line was being crossed from dental to medical insurance. I suggested that it instead of basically telling me that I should have "known better" that perhaps a good response might have been, “I’m sorry that happened. I will make sure to remind our staff to tell people that this will be billed to medical insurance and a referral might be needed.” Instead of seeing my point she merely restated that it’s not their responsibility to know everyone’s insurance. It’s too bad the office staff chose to be defensive instead of empathetic and using this as an opportunity to improve their procedures and better serve their clients (aka customers)."

"Dr Fontana is warm and considerate and COMPETENT. I have been to MANY dentists and Dr Fontana is excellent. I had an implant with a bone graft done, and I had no pain He kept checking that I was okay, and he and his assistant worked effectively together. +*+*+*+*+*+*+ UPDATE Had SECOND Implant done - also needing a bone graft and also without pain. Dr Fontana is getting even better - if I need another, no question where I will go."

"fixed my teeth right up. Dr Fontana is friendly and he has a great hygenist staff that will be gentle with you. They charged me wrong a few times, but it was quickly remedied."
