Reviews of Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Elkton
"A 1st impression is a lasting impression and the orthodontist was amazing with my daughter! Very through and efficient with her treatment plan."
"The environment wasn’t very warm and welcoming by the staff. The facility itself is clean though. My son has ADHD and had a couple moments where he was very excited and hyper and the staff didn’t approach it well. They were rude about it and weren’t understanding or very patient at all. They tried correcting him themselves. I think some positive reinforcement can be taught to the staff if they insist of parenting other peoples children. I also have 3 children and unfortunately had to bring them all with me. 2 of my children had an appointment and I feel it wasn’t very organized. My daughter went in her own room and once she was done then my son went into his own room. Then the doctor came in to see my son and then we had to go back to my daughter’s room for the doctor to see her. I don’t see why we couldn’t have just stayed in the same room. Overall, the staff weren’t very friendly and weren't good with children. This was only my second time bringing my children and after the first visit I waited to give them another chance but the second appointment gave me the same feelings. I will be switching to another dentist."
"***NEW UPDATES*** It is so not funny. My recent appointments with Main Street children’s dentistry are very disappointing. I came in on time for my orthodontist appointment and had myself checked in, but I kept seeing people who came after me got called by the nurse. The average waiting time for my last service and this service is around 40 min. I am not sure if that is because I am Asian or something else. I only got a perfunctory explanation saying that the nurse somehow did not see my printed form. I used to have good experience with this dentistry but I would not recommend to people unless they want to be treated differently and want to mess up their work schedule. Updates: Lady from their costomer service contacted me. She sincerely explained and apploized for my bad experience. Right now they are in a spin after transition to new location, training new staff, and the new doctor also need to get hold of all their patients. I was too arbitrarily to make my judgment and wrote done the previous review with emotion."
"I took my daughter here for her 1st dentist appointment, I was nervous because she is 20 months and very busy, but the staff was great with her! They were very patient and gentle and did everything they could to make her comfortable."
"My daughter has a developmental delay, a little on the autistic side. However, when my daughter came in for her first appointment she screamed and panicked when the dentist tried to look at her teeth. Now mind you, the dentist didn’t even try to make her feel comfortable enough to be relaxed, she just walked in and tried to look inside her mouth. I mean wouldn’t anybody want to feel comfortable when they go to see a doctor or a dentist. But before I booked an appointment, I went to their website and did a little research and they said that they’re experienced with working with disabled children and children who suffers from anxiety. But the moment things got tough, they immediately sent my daughter to another dentist. My child needed to get a filling and this place does the laughing gas for children with disabilities and have bad anxiety so they can relax. But, the dentist here didn’t even bother to try to use it to see if it will actually help, she refused to see my child and I asked her many times if she could try to see her again and she kept refusing. These workers clearly don’t have the patience to deal with disabled children(based off of my experience). But I found a place that’s way better than this place and they only see CHILDREN, not adults and children. The drive is 35 - 40 minutes away but I would rather take that drive than to come here any day."
