"After placing a take out order and looking around, area wasn’t very clean. Floor was sticky. Shoes were actually sticking to the floor. Random crumbs. Tried calling at 11:23 am and 11:32 am on a Friday and got a recording that we were calling outside of their hours. Cashier didn’t seem to be having a good day. Pizza’s were not as good as they used to be. Not sure was happened to this store. Used to be clean and made good pizza. Definitely not worth $65 for 3 pies anymore."

"This place is horrible my daughter went there last Saturday and a female punched her in her face while sitting at the bar. Security did absolutely nothing at all to help my daughter! Once my daughter was leaving two girls and multiple men started hitting her outside literally in front of the doors of Grottos. And still security did nothing. I called today and spoke with the manager name Keith and he literally made no sense at all. I asked him did he see the footage he said yes I seen when the girl punched your daughter. I said exactly so why the hell didn’t security didn’t do their job. His response was just silent like seriously Keith has no management experience what so ever …. So I called grottos corporate office the First Lady that answered claimed she could not hear me once I said I’m going to sue for lack of security she then hung up on me. I called again and a lady name Tracy answered and once again I told this lady that I was going to sue she started to huff and puff Tracy hung up on me also …. Called back tracy quickly transferred my call to Glen who works for the HR department and Glen didn’t care to take any incident report said he also had no knowledge of what happened on Saturday which Keith should have completed an incident report. The most frustrating issue is my daughter did not know who attacked her. Once she went outside grown men and women attacked her. Stay away from this place. I know this is an outing for young people but this is not a safe environment with so much security staff that do absolutely nothing. To the workers here, let’s see how you feel if your daughter is getting attacked with people just standing around doing nothing."

"I travel all around the world for my business. Every city I visit, I like to try a couple pizza joints, BBQ, local hot spots etc. A frozen $5 pizza from Walmart is better than what I paid $30 + for tonight. Extremely disappointing. No flavor, the cheese seemed undercooked, just horrible. I would try to compare it to those buffet style pizza joints or skating rink pizza but it’s in its own category of bad. On their box, “Voted best pizza in Delaware”…. right…."

"Worst pizza ever. Charged me $50 for extra sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. None of those are on this pizza. Dasher got an $11 tip. Stephanie, the. Manager, first hung up on me and then a total lying nightmare claiming I’m going to get a refund when I got $5 back. Do not order from Grottos on Main Street Newark. Second time cold pizz and wrong order."

"I returned to Grotto in Newark after having a positive experience on a previous visit. This time I came to take advantage of the 5$ off dine in large pizza special. The bar was fairly occupied and the large dining room was empty. I scanned the provided QR code and pulled up the menu on my phone. I was ready to order as soon as the server appeared. The pizza came out quickly and was not disappointing. Grotto pizzas have a unique flavour and you won’t mistake it for anywhere else. That includes both national chains and local pizza shops. The cheese and the sauce make it just right snd that, in turn, makes it just Grotto."
