"Optum (since the buyout) is the embodiment of the corruption and disorder of the modern American medical care system. Customer service and billing assistance is non-existent with call back times not being minutes or hours but multiple days. Received a late payment notice (first notice of any kind I saw) with the incorrect name on it and have yet to be able to speak to a human. I started paying just to avoid collection agency and wouldn’t ya know it a week after paying I received a collection agency notice (within a couple weeks of my first notice of any due payment. The issue isn’t the doctors it’s the corporation behind the entire operation. Avoid at all costs."
"I don’t usually write reviews, but I was confused to see the low rating and wanted to hopefully inform other parents on my experience, and recommend Dr. Zapson. Both of my toddlers have seen Dr. Zapson since birth and we love her. She’s patient kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. She always makes us feel cared for and comfortable and well informed. She never brushes us off with any concern or question and always shows genuine care, concern and has a wonderful bedside manor. I’m extremely saddened that we moved too far away to continue being her patients, but should we ever move back to the area I would 100% bring my children back to her. Everything else about the office, (nurses/front desk) are average and I haven’t had a problem."
"First, Bonnie at the front desk is absolutely terrible. Very rude and nosey and always transfers the calls to the other office so she doesn’t have to do her job. Next, is the nurses. Absolute worst they make you think they’re so “booked” but when you get there the office is empty!!! The nurses also seem very clueless and flat out rude. One time I wanted to be seen for some chest pains and sore throat and the nurse said “well you don’t sound sick.” Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful… who is a nurse to tell you whether or not you sound sick on the phone. It’s also extremely difficult to get through to this terrible office. All around bad experience with this office and Caremount. Please do yourself a favor and take you and your children somewhere else."
"I have been using Dr. Maria Zapson for quite some time. She is very capable, experienced, and friendly!"
"This review is strictly for the way in which billing is processed for morning walk-in for pediatric patients. The doctors here are always nice and our child loves them all. The doctors and the staff here get *****five stars*****. My issue is with Caremount's billing system, which I give *one star*. They use tablets for payment. Almost every time we have been there during morning walk-in (8-9 AM), the tablets are not ready to process payments and the staff always says that they will bill us. I always insist on paying our co-pay at the time of visit so we do not have to think about whether or not a bill is paid. I always ask for the receipt to be sent to my email. No paper copy needed. That was the case two weeks ago. Today I received an invoice dated one week ago (so one week after the actual visit) stating that we have a balance equal to our co-pay. This is not the first time this has happened. I called the 888 #, and used the automated system to find out that we do not have a balance. The only conclusion I can come to is: Caremount sends out an invoice based on the visit, never checking to see of the patient, or guardian, actually paid any amount at the time of visit. They likely do this so they can play with free money, eventually sending the patient or guardian a statement saying that we have a credit balance equal to the co-pay amount. Bottom line: Caremount's billing system is awful; actually pathetic. An audit should be done by NYS Dept of Financial Services, Insurance Division and by US Dept of Labor, the two bodies responsible for oversight of insurance claims. USDOL is responsible when an insurance company is Administrative Services ONLY for self-insured companies. Caremount's practice of "double billing" is inexcusable."
