"I suffered for years with night terrors and seizures which were finally correctly diagnosed and successfully treated by Dr. Okasha. The doctor treated me with the utmost compassion, respect, professionalism, and above all, dignity during what was the most challenging time of my life. It's been about 10 years since my last appointment, and life has been good....much thanks to Dr. Okasha and his excellent staff,"
"after being a patient for 15 yrs.. I called to schedule an appointment.. I had a week supply left of medication.. The 'closest' appointment I could get was 4 weeks away.. the second person I talked to was condescending while explaining that it basically doesn't matter if I'm out of medication for 3 weeks.. I need to be seen.. what ever happened to the oath 'shall do no harm'? I guess it doesn't apply to patients.. very disappointed and dissatisfied.."
"Dr. Okasha is quite capricious in his prescribing habits lately. For years I saw him, and then he got a laptop, and the way he interacted with patients changed hugely. I Without any warning, he cut me off of a medication that I had been taking for years for both anxiety and epilepsy, and then the following month I've had four subsequent seizures. I've pointed this out to him and he told me verbatim that the only reason he is not prescribing that medication anymore is because I'm on another medication (I don't want to name it, but let's just say it's a plant that is legal for medical use in my state) although this medication and the anxiety medication have no interactions, he said that the reason he wouldn't continue the prescription is because he doesn't want the scrutiny from the state. So much for putting patient care first. My antidepressants have never really worked for me, and when I went as far as to show him that genetic testing showed the antidepressant he had me on are incompatible with my genetics (I don't metabolise it properly), he decided to keep the medications exactly the same because they weren't causing any trouble... Maybe not for him, but for me depressed anxious state every day is definitely troublesome."
"It’s all about insurance money. That I know for a fact because I know someone who used to work there. She told me Dr. Okasha wants to see patients monthly for insurance money. Most do not have to be seen every month. I’ve had issues with medications & have gotten tons of attitude from the morbidly obese office staff who call him “doc.” Ugh."
"Candace O'Brien REFUSED to phone in my controlled medications today. The office was closed today due to the storm. The office DID NOT notify me that they were closed, so I was unable to get my medications. The providerI Tom, my provider Candace O'Brien REFUSED or to phone in my prescriptions. The on call service told me because one of my meds was y that the office would need to phone it in. I had my pharmacist call the office when Candace REFUSED to phone in a prescription that she originally gave me for sleep and anxiety! I called the on call service back and they informed me per Candace O'Brien that if I were to call back I'm NOT getting my medication and I'd have to hEcall back tomorrow. I told the answering service that this was intentional medical negligence on the provider and answering service and requested to speak to the on call Psychiatrist which They denied me! Then, the woman at the answering service says "good call" and denies doing so and becomes belligerent and disrespectful! Rest assured I will be filing a complaint with the State of CT boards of Medical Ethics and speaking to an attorney!"
