Zachs Hillel House

Zachs Hillel House, located at 74 Vernon Street in Hartford, Connecticut, is a vibrant and inclusive institution within the university setting. Originally established as Trinity College Hillel 70 years ago, the organization has evolved to provide a wide range of religious and cultural programming for Jewish students on campus. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like Henry Zachs ’56 and Alan Mendelson ’69, Zachs Hillel House has become a hub of Jewish life and learning.

Under the leadership of Trinity Hillel Director Lisa Kassow, the institution strives to offer diverse and engaging activities that appeal to students’ interests through a Jewish perspective. From Shabbat and holiday observances to social action initiatives and mindfulness practices, Zachs Hillel House is committed to fostering a sense of community and connection among its members.

One of the institution's notable events is the Annual Pink Shabbat for Breast Cancer Awareness, which highlights the intersection of social activism and Jewish values.
