WCSU Testing Services

WCSU Testing Services, located at 205 43 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, Connecticut, is dedicated to providing students with a comfortable and quiet environment to achieve accurate test scores. Our mission is to maintain the highest level of testing requirements and support students in reaching their full potential.

One of the services we offer is the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), which allows students to earn college credit for what they already know at a fraction of the cost of a college course. With 34 exams covering introductory college course material, CLEP exams are ideal for individuals who have gained knowledge through independent study, job experience, or cultural interaction.

Western Connecticut State University follows guidelines set by the American Council on Education for awarding credit for CLEP exams. Test credit is applied according to WCSU's transfer credit policy, and most CLEP exams are 90-minute computer-based multiple-choice tests.

WCSU Testing Services is an open testing center, welcoming candidates from WCSU and other institutions. While we administer most CLEP exams, WCSU only accepts selected exams. It is important to check with your academic advisor or registrar for advanced permission before registering for a CLEP exam.

Registration forms for CLEP exams are accepted until the Wednesday prior to the test dates. Upon approval, you will receive a detailed confirmation letter with test date, time, and other pertinent information. Payments for exams are non-refundable and non-transferable, with an administration fee payable to WCSU and an exam fee payable to College Board (CLEP).
