"Eliza has the ability to change lives. She has a way of "pulling the roots" instead of treating surface level issues. She's tough when she needs to be, compassionate when called for, and has a touch of spirituality. The 3 star rating comes from her having been intertwined with a probation officer who was less than professional. Eliza without state involvment would be the perfect therapist. A transparent treatment plan would make her stellar."

"I do NOT agree with the negative posts on the reviews...I use the Cromwell office but I have also been to the Shelton office on 1 occasion. Eliza Borecka and her associate (Andrew) are compassionate people. She has helped behavior issues with my oldest daughter and also incorporated our whole family when it to help our family. "FIRSTLY, our family court system is 100% broken and harmful. I had a great experience with Sterling Center Shelton. Just realized their purpose. They’re not a tool to use for court. They don’t suffer fools. I found them ethical, balanced, child-best-interest-focused, gladiators for truly abused children. To keep things balanced and uninfluenced this doctor is a child’s safe place. Sterling Center Shelton is ethical, safe, and truly protects children from outside parties. It’s your responsibility to navigate around DCF and deal directly with the Superior Court’s Family Center Unit. To the point of a comment here, Sterling Center told me before hand they will not entertain the notion of even responding to the most child-failing, devastating administration in the state; DCF. That is why I trusted them. DCF does more harm than help and they have zero power to help you protect your abused child. Rather, report your situation ONCE with DCF. It’s your responsibility to do that for further court proceedings. They will find your report unsubstantiated and close it anyway. The court could subpoena them to respond directly back to court. No one should use DCF as an advocate or court mouthpiece. Ever."

"One of the most horrendous experiences being employed as an Admin at the Sterling Center. The head clinician, Eliza, tells everyone she is a doctor but She is actually only an LCSW. If you google her it shows she is a doctor- false info! She is late to every single appointment and talks poorly to staff infront of clients. Very inappropriate behavior. She acts more like a dictator rather than a boss scolding her husband and making her admin act as a little slave for her. Because Eliza is such a rude and angry boss this sadley reflects on her work as a clinician. She makes fun of clients and makes them wait until the last minute to see him or her. Very sad to see because these people desperately are seeking help. Please stay away from this corrupt facility!!"

"Highly recommend to STAY AWAY from this facility and also the Shelton facility. What they tell you in person and what they write down on paper are 2 different stories. The report that they made is filled with inaccuracies. Strongly suspect that the report was modified at DCF request as it bears so little resemblance to verbal report given at end of sessions. If you fall into DCF purview, do NOT allow them to force you to use this therapist."
