Reviews of Eastcoast Motorsports LLC
"My Experience with East Coast Motorsports: I am the second owner of a 1966 Mustang GT Convertible. I bought the car in 1979 at the age of 15 and have owned it for over 43 years. I originally restored and painted the car in 1985 and by 2022 it was in need of an upgrade and repaint. I’ve owned many cars over the years but this was my first, and the only “keeper”. Choosing a shop to perform show quality work on your prized possession is no easy task. We’ve all heard the horror stories of cars that have been “trapped” in a poorly run shop for years only to emerge in an underwhelming state. It would seem that “over promise and underdeliver” is the mantra that much of the restoration industry lives by. Not so with East Coast Motorsports (ECM). In fact, just the opposite. When I met Wayne and Tammy Rollins, I knew I had found the right people and the right shop to do business with. From Day-1 my experience at ECM is unlike anything I’ve come across in decades of working on classic cars. To begin with, Wayne is understated – he doesn’t oversell himself (he doesn’t need to) and he never has a bad word to say about anyone. Tammy is always cheerful, helpful and responsive to any questions or requests. A family run business that operates on a simple principle – say what you’re going to do, and then do what you say. Wayne and Tammy provided me with a Restoration Agreement that set out the terms and conditions of what they would do and how their shop runs. I had an opportunity to add an extensive list of specific details that I wanted them to take care of. We went over everything together and agreed on a time schedule and payment protocol. From that point on, I pretty much sat back and watched it all happen – just like they said it would. Tammy sent weekly invoices along with pictures that detailed each step. These built an organized and detailed record of the entire process. The car was delivered on time and exceeded my expectations. Wayne does NOT cut corners and he is a master of detail. I could wax extensively about the quality of work and attention to detail that ECM brings to the table but that’s not why I’m writing this. In my humble opinion, there is something more important that should be highlighted. There are lots of fairly talented people that can do restoration work or paint a car. The challenge is finding someone that has the business skills, people skills and character to make you comfortable throughout the process. Great restoration work takes time and whoever you choose – you better be comfortable with them because you’re going to be working together for months, not just a few days. This is what truly sets ECM apart. You won’t find better people to work with than Wayne and Tammy. Coupled with the fact that their work is impeccable makes it easy for me to give ECM my highest recommendation. Michael Brault"
"Eastcoast Motorsports accomplished a fantastic restoration of my 46 year old car I kept since new. All the rust eliminated and panels were restored or replaced to perfection. The black paint job was flawless as was the bodywork. Very happy with the results."
"Wayne and his crew are absolutely fantastic. I brought them my 77 MGB for body work and paint. They are very knowledgable about restoration and answered all of my questions throughout the entire process. They were also very accommodating to all my requests. They kept me updated with plenty of pictures and emails about everything they found, and each step they were going to do next. The final product is simply breathtaking. Stunning job, and I couldnt be happier! I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a professional restoration experience. 5 stars all the way!"
"I have nothing but great things to say about Wayne and East Coast Motorsports. He completed an amazing restoration of my 66 Chevelle, kept me informed along the way, and offered excellent guidance. He was always responsive, and obviously takes great pride in his work. I would confidently recommend him to any car enthusiast."
"Plenty of great promises! Owner stopped by to see the project! "Have collected my car" paid in full 22 invoices, but not all my parts were recovered, heard many excuses with employee and owner/partner drama! I felt they're pain, was billed for hours no one touched my car, was charged to place car on a lift, 80+ hours of labor on two A body doors with no glass installed, needed to repurchase lost parts and received a two day mobile sand blast bill for $5,500.00 ouch! (quoted $3500.00) It wasn't Covid, just a tiny 10gal.chinese soda blast tank on Dustless Joe's blasting trailer...."don't go for this option" When I brought in all the parts (3rd month) to finish the job I was amazed to see everything slow way down Yes there is a yellow line and I only crossed it when invited into the shop.... DETAILS, THATS WHAT IT TOOK!!! I'm pleased not to wait over two years for my ride! Thank You Wayne, Joe and later Matt for all the positive items and incredible impact you guys added to my project, making so many small changes; exhaust body cutouts, modifying trunk torsion spring, *pin holes*, trimming fiberglass hood for fitment, welding in seatbelt details to finish up the existing 14point cage, enlarging quarter wheel holes for 22x33x15 tires, dealing with repairing all previous work on floors, fenders, window edges, missing panel tabs! THEN ALL THE TAPING! Installing engine/trans, headers, drive shaft, 4link suspension adjustment, fuel cell, detail around the tubs, seats and then there was the 2nd trunk lid! Every customer wants more for their money, every builder has Connecticut expenses!"
