"The Technique that is shown to you at Big Apple Training for Phlebotomy is incorrect.. I currently work at LabCorp now and I am being taught a whole different technique, one that is safer for not only you but the patient too. Ms. Diaz is pretty nice but the technique she is showing is incorrect.. you do NOT use TWO HANDS when drawing blood with a straight needle! Oh also you don’t close the needle on a flat surface, you use your thumb .. I would not recommend attending this class because the teaching of technique is wrong, only thing that was correct was the Order Of Draw."
