"My niece attends Capitol prep, I attended their open house..their goals and objectives are admirable and much different from public schools which is great. The principal..not so sure if he is mocking the urban culture with his verbiage or just trying to fit in to the community that he is in. My niece loves the school and her teachers but we’ve had one incident so far that I felt was a big deal but the staff..not so much. My niece has been picked up since the day she started, she lost her school ID so a family member went to the school to buy her a new one. This badge is in indicator of whether or not a child takes the bus…the staff member did not check to see whether or not she takes the bus and just gave her a buss pass. We’re human..a mistake was made right?a big one? But it was made…when coming to pick her up that day..staff could only say “she’s on the bus”…huh? What bus? Going where? They gave us a stop…we go there…no bus…so we call the school…”I don’t know what you want me to tell you, call the bus company” ..”do you have a number for them?” “You can google it”…allright. Eventually we get a call to come back to the school because the bus driver brought my niece back there..please understand how horrifying this half of an hour was…not knowing where your child is and the people that are responsible for her giving no answers and acting as if they simply do not care. When I get to the school, I ask to speak to the woman who nonchalantly told me to google the bus company’s number. I asked her how this mix up happened..”I don’t know, I’m not the one who did it” ..” does this not concern you? That a child left the school.onto a bus they’ve NEVER BEEN ON, because of your staff member?” ..her response was “you’re looking for an emotion you’re not going to get from me”what emotion? The emotion it takes to care for the children that are in your care? The principal introduces himself but just stands there with no answer besides “the parent must have told us to do that” which was NOT true and a “coach jonathan” intercepts which at that point I ended the conversation and walked away. With all due respect to coach jonathan, this was an administrative issue and if the principal and this rude staff member would’ve just said “we will look into it” since they have “no emotions” instead of blaming the parents…that would’ve been a tad bit more comforting. For this reason, I’d never enroll a child of mine into this school..you’d want to be comfortable leaving your children in someone’s care. If you do…pay attention to all changes as the staff WILL NOT and blame you for any mistakes made."
