"I was so excited to learn that Niantic had a yarn shop again I couldn't wait to visit! Poked my head in after visiting the pet shop and was immediately ready to purchase some goodies. Oh, what a delightful time! We were greeted with an impromptu education on reading comprehension from the hospitable owner. Not only was I ignored for my male counterpart, but we were told there are no dogs allowed. No problem, I apologized and handed my service dog over to my partner so I could continue to browse. They left the store immediately and remained outside. While I was perusing I overheard the owner reiterating to her friends how there was a clear sign on the door, and boy I didn't think I deserved the nasty face that accompanied this statement. I called out another apology and stated that I did not see the sign. I looked for any indication whether my animal would be an issue but saw nothing on my way in. This further apology was met with another look of disgust. On the way out I noticed, at the base of the door, a minuscule, camouflage-like statement that only certified service animals are allowed in. Interesting, I was never asked whether my animal was in fact a service dog -- I was, no, my partner was told that there are no dogs allowed. I had never even been acknowledged during my brief visit, despite my willingness to support this local business."

"My partner and I visited this store tonight, and it was one of the most challenging experiences we've had in a yarn shop. Upon entering with our service dog, the owner informed us that dogs weren't allowed, leading me to leave while my partner continued shopping. Subsequently, the owner criticized our ability to read, citing a small, inconspicuous sign on the door. Note to management: If you want a no-dog policy, a microscopic sign in white on grey won't cut it. Perhaps a more conspicuous sign would save future customers from the vision test. Just a thought for a smoother yarn-shopping experience. For reference a photo of the door is attached good luck finding the text without zooming in 5x."

I have made several purchases and have been so pleased with everything. Paulette (NGYG) is so helpful when choosing yarns. I am not local so my purchases are shipped and I receive them so quickly. I just can’t enough great things about this LYS."

The store has an amazing selection of yarn as well."

"This merchant has provided me with a wonderful experience. I placed on order on a Sunday and received my yarn on Tuesday of the same week. Thank you, Knitty Gritty Yarn Girl (a/k/a Paulette)!! The yarn was so very well packaged. It came in a mesh bag, with all yarns for the project grouped together. Also in the bag was the pattern and information for the Zoom get togethers to discuss progress, issues and questions. I am extremely impressed and look forward to the Knit Along.
