"My husband and I were really looking forward to spending our date night here. Unfortunately, he tested positive for COVID the day of our reservation. I emailed the manager as soon as we found out to share the news, in hope that we could reschedule. They simply responded that based on their 24 hour cancellation policy, the reservation will be forfeited and they will keep all funds received (over $100!) or we can give the tickets to someone else. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of flexibility or care in her response especially given today’s climate. We weren’t even suggesting a refund just a reschedule. The fact that the policy gives no consideration at all to COVID is illogical as it presumes that customers are able to anticipate the spread of the covid 19 virus in the community and provide them with notice within their given timeframe. It also presumes that they’d even be able to find alternative customers in a short period of time. Lastly, it is totally void of any empathy considering the stress that goes along with getting COVID. And oh by the way keeping 100% of the funds received. The customer service is lacking here and the approach/suggestions were very inconsiderate. I hope the manager considers re-evaluating their policy in the future. I will not be able to recommend Kiln Pottery as a business to support and will share my unfortunate experience on other platforms as well."
"I thoroughly enjoy coming here and have been welcomed like family everytime I come in! I get to create with clay, throw on the wheel and paint my creations. I also enjoy seeing the kids come in and thier excitement is contagious! Its so much fun to see all ages coming in and having fun."
"Wendy, Melanie, and their staff are an amazing team of highly professional and skilled artisans who strive to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere for their patrons. I have been there numerous times with family, friends, and my Girl Scouts troop and every time it has been such a wonderful and relaxed experience. I highly recommend Kil'n It Pottery and Tipsy Paintbrush to anyone and everyone who is looking for something fun to do, new to try, or as a place to hold a special event. They are amazing and I'm so happy to see they are thriving!"
"THIS PLACE IS NOT FRIENDLY FOR PARENTS WITH TODDLERS. We went there with our three year old kid and during the break these people told us that they cannot allow the kid back in. He didn’t disturbed anyone, neither did he break anything. He was just being playful with us. While my wife taking the class, I was looking after the kid. How inconsiderate can you be. If you have problem with kids then don’t mention on your website that this place is for kids with all ages. We were the only people of color there.. I really wonder if they would have same attitude towards the white folks. Since I can’t reply to your response directly, I am putting it here. 1. You didn’t spoke with us multiple times. You mentioned before the class started that he cannot be near the wheel. He touched the clay for a mina and I took him away and got him engaged in painting. 2. When we came back after the break, you just told us that you can’t let the kid come in. You never gave us a reason or mentioned urination. We didn’t realize that he had urinated and you never told us that. Have I known it, I would have cleaned it myself. For gods sake he is a 3 year old kid. Have little to empathy towards the kid. 3. You are saying he was disruptive, how? Did he break anything? Did he made a mess? Did he went and disturbed any of your other guests. THE ANSWER TO ALL THESE QUESTIONS IS NO. He was simply playing with us. Anyways the bottom line is that you guys should have handled this situation appropriately. Telling a parent that their kid is not allowed in a premises without giving any reason, is one of the worst things you can do. So I called it for what it looked like."
"BEWARE OF “NEW POLICY”. Had a great first experience- thought I would bring my daughter again. Expensive lesson learned. We each picked a piece for $18 to paint. Then we are told since it’s for food- we should glaze them for an extra $12. I saw all the signs posted and agreed. We painted for 2 hours and we’re 3/4 done when we had enough. I go to pay and let them know we will need to return to finish. I am THEN told- it’s a new policy but there is a $12 HOLDING FEE. NO signs anywhere. I said no problem- I’ll just take them bring them back when I return. She said it’s still going to cost $12 each to return- for the glaze (that I already paid for). I said in that case forget it- I won’t fire them or finish- I’ll just pay for the pieces and you can throw them away. The other girl says- you need to charge them for everything. So… $63 later- I have nothing to show for it but a picture and a lesson learned. I will not return. Seemed like a nice place to spend time with my daughter but I can’t afford to be ripped off like that. The lucky couple behind me heard everything BEFORE they painted and left right behind us. Update- owner called several times. I spoke to her today and she basically said the choices were all mine to leave and I should have stayed if I didn’t want to pay the fee. She acknowledged there is no sign or notification to patrons that only one studio session was included in fee. I suggested a sign and she sarcastically said she would consider it."
