"They made a simple mistake and charged me $30 over what they had told me on the phone when I placed the order for pickup. The new owner refuses to take accountability and will only offer me store credit instead of a refund. I made a mistake by not checking the price at checkout because I thought I already knew the price which she had told me and they made a mistake charging me $30 extra. Good customer service would have resolved this easily."

"We recently used Johnston’s Florist for our Father’s funeral. We wanted a set of very specific floral arrangements with certain types of flowers used. We also asked that she try and keep within a theme in the arrangements coming in from others, unless they specifically asked for something. What was delivered was nothing short of exquisite. All floral arrangements were beautifully designed and executed with care and precision. The theme we were going for was evident without being overdone, and added to the solemnity of the service. Janelle, the owner and designer has our complete and total thanks, as well as a ringing endorsement."

"BEWARE - New owners as of Dec 2022! Zero stars if I could. We have lived in Dobbs for 10 years and were great fans and supporters of Johnston's. The previous owners were amazing. For just under $100 you would get a beautiful, quality arrangement that would often last weeks. We spent a lot of money there, happy to support a local business and would send all of our friends there. Fast forward to Dec 2022 when a family friend went there and bought us a bunch of flowers for over $100 ($118, to be exact). One of the worst and amateurish bouquets I have ever seen with dying flowers after 4 days. Just look at the photos - the first one is the new Johnston's and the second is a beautiful bouquet from last year. Even if the pandemic doubled the price of purchasing flowers, I was still not given a $118 bouquet of flowers! Even worse, when I took the flowers to the new owner to complain, she was rude, arrogant and told me the bouquet was totally acceptable (when we had mix-ups with the previous owners, they would apologetically send us another bunch of flowers!). She did nothing to placate me, with no kind of store credit or improved bouquet. And when I explained about Google Reviews and all the business she might be losing from a dissatisfied customer, she dug in even more and was completely nonchalant. Like, the customer is always wrong! Unless you are prepared to drop a lot of money for something mediocre, I suggest you'll find something equally nice at Stop and Shop or another Rivertown florist."

"I went to Johnstons Flower shop to buy an arrangement for my mother. Bridget the florist was incredibly helpful, listened to what I needed and stopped what she was doing to make this beautiful flower arrangement within my price point. The flowers are beautiful and the shop owner and florist were so helpful. I will definitely go back there for all my flower needs. Also loved the plants there."

"They did an excellent job on short notice for a baby shower. It was important to stay within a modest budget and they still created simple elegant centerpieces for 6 tables. Thank you!"
