"I’m very disappointed in the emergency department and the service my grandma was given. My grandmother had gone to the ER 3 days prior to today with all the same symptoms she has just much worse 3 days ago. When she went there they didn’t feel the need to test her for flu or covid simply saw her, did cray because of her cough and kept her in the ER for multiple hours and told her it’s just a cold and sent her on her way. Today she is brought back and seen by a different physician who ACTUALLY tested her for Covid and flu and came back positive. I’m very disappointed this was not detected the first time. When I thought were suppose to prevent the spread of Covid and flu instead you failed the community by not testing her. Thank goodness my grandma still isolated herself. I would like to be contacted about this matter as soon as possible. Thank you."
"If I could give a negative star number I would. I am a retired nurse after a 40 year career and my experience this evening at Norwalk hospital was abysmal. I was there with my 86year old aunt. She was placed on a stretcher in a hallway slot. No one even made eye contact with us and when she or I tried to ask a question it was obvious that we were bothering the staff, we were even told "I have other things to do". A patient apparently died while we were there and a nurse joked in the hallway with a colleague stating "I call that a DCJ - discharge to Jesus". They gave my elderly aunt a dose of morphine for her pain and never followed up to assess the effectiveness. If they charted that they did it is fraudulent documentation. Hours after her workup was completed and we were just waiting for the details of transfer to short term rehab to be completed I asked multiple people if she could have something to eat as she had not eaten since the previous day. Everyone smiled and said sure but no food ever came so my husband went to the cafeteria to purchase food for her. The only 2 people I met during 7 hours with any people skills were the physical therapist and the case manager. I would never recommend this institution to anyone and certainly never bring anyone I care about there again."
"Either some places are just handing out licenses or this hospital’s admin lacks any semblance of humanity. Patient neglect runs rampant from some med staff to “social workers” to front desk staff. Here’s some free advice: you can’t handle certain disease states, don’t admit the patient. Guessing some MBA in admin decided to maximize profit margins."
"Worst hospital. ER doctor saw me for a total of maybe five minutes. Rude nurse, I could hear her talking trash about her patients from my room. This was in May 2023. Norwalk Hospital needs a serious change. You are affecting so many sick and patients that come to you for help…find employees with work ethic that actually care."
"I attended this care center because I needed help and when the time came to give me my medicine they Denied me help!!! Because the Doctor on staff mentioned to her colleagues that “She did not want to deal with it” ??? What does that even mean?? Doctor Alberto, J. Gavilanes Aguirre, MD was very helpful but the rest of the staff did not care and were very rude!!! It's like they don't want to be there even though we pay them. I do not recommend you go there if you care for your health! Also, I had to call them 4 times and explain myself over and over even though they said they were going to take care of it."
