Reviews of Jack Dolan’s Irish Pub
"Happy New Year. We went there today to have brunch with friends. It was our first time there for all. We had the Irish breakfast and it was delicious. My Bloody Mary was excellent also. We will be back to try other meals. I would highly recommend it ."
"Came to try their Full Irish Breakfast since it’s hard to find on LI and was not disappointed! I also got to try the Sausage Rolls, Potato and Leek Soup, Shepherd’s Pie, Melancholy Baby, and Irish Sherry Trifle. It’s really nice to find an Irish pub that actually makes Irish Food so close to home. My mom who had the potato soup said it was the best potato soup she’s ever had and the Shepherd’s Pie was the best one I’ve ever had."
"I don’t write too many reviews but this place was worth making one. They were so friendly, quick service (granted it was quiet at the time), and our waitress was a perfect amount of attentive and not intrusive. Especially during quiet time - I’ve had so many wait staff forget to check in on my table when it’s so quiet but she balanced it perfectly. THE FOOD: I’m so used to places giving smaller and smaller servings as the prices keep going up but you definitely get your money’s worth here. It’s not just good portions it’s good food! I got the shepherds pie, my mom got the French onion soup and a salad, and my cousins got/shared the muscles and the grilled cheese/soup. It was so much food! My shepherds pie was delicious and I will absolutely be getting that grilled cheese next time. I did want to get dessert but we were stuffed. Next time though - I’ve got my eye on the trifle (never had one before but I’m going to try it here). It was nice that the owner came out to check on us and thank us for coming as well. Surprisingly rare experience dining out for a change - good food with the value, pleasant people, and a genuine Irish roots kind of place. My sister goes there a bunch and now I will be making a few trips there too."
"Pretty good Irish food shepherd pie was really good just a little salty but still good flavor and the Irish soda bread was a little dry but still good and the burger was very flavorful as well atmosphere was great and very clean and nice set up good local spot!"
"Went for a late lunch, the Pub Burger and Sheppards Pie were excellent, as was the Irish Onion Soup. Portions are large, well prepared and served promptly. The owner John (Jack's grandson) stopped by to check that everything was to our liking and chatted with us for a bit. Kelly, our waitress couldn't have been more accommodating, wrapping up our leftovers. The cook even popped his head out to check on us old codgers. Dolan's even had my favorite Magners Irish Cider."
