"I usually don’t write reviews but I figured it’s important to help others make decisions. I personally would not recommend this bank. I moved out of state so I decided to empty my account and than close it. I completed these steps and then about one year later while trying to open an account in my new state and I was declined because I was told I owe money to Dutch Point. I was taken back by this statement as I don’t usually leave my debt unpaid. Upon seeking further info it was determined that a 3rd party was trying to debt my Dutch Point account that I believed was close and though they DID NOT pay on my behalf they were charging me because the ATTEMPT came through. I explained to them that my account should have been closed in addition to the fact that the card had not been used in about 1 year so this had to be an error. They did not care and still wanted me to pay over $100 for an ATTEMPT of payment though they did pay any of the transactions. Essentially they were asking for Free money. They refused to resolve the debt and I had to make a payment or I would not have been able to open an account in my new state. I have never experienced anything like this before and I hope no one else has to."
