"I got some pushback on an item exchange today for seemingly no reason at all. My sister bought a USB-C charger here, left her device plugged in for 12+ hours overnight, and discovered that it hadn’t charged a single percent. On her behalf, I brought the item + receipt to the store to exchange it for an identical replacement. No problem, right? lol.. The associate did not accept the item at first, claiming that the charger did not work BECAUSE I left it plugged in overnight (..how?). I didn’t quite understand her meaning, but she certainly denied any fault for the item not functioning. After I explained again that it’s nobody’s fault and the item is just defective, she bluntly asked why I’m exchanging for the same one then- Well, because my sister isn’t with me, so I can’t return it to the original payment (the refund would go on a Walgreens gift card). Furthermore, I did not have my sister’s device with me to test the charger in-store, which is why I needed the exchange: If the new one works, then the original was indeed faulty. But if the new one doesn’t work either, then the issue may be the device or the charger type, in which case I can always come back again with my sister present to process a standard return/refund. After further explaining this, the associate tried to convince me that I’d still only get the refund on a Walgreens gift card, even if I decided to return to the store with my sister’s payment card + receipt (which simply isn’t true, according to the store’s own policy). EVENTUALLY, I was able to convince the associate to swap the defective charger for an exact replacement, but I don’t know why it had to be so complicated. It’s possible that she misunderstood my intentions (maybe the charger was successfully used and I was only attempting to get my money back afterwards), but that still doesn’t explain why I was requesting an item exchange, not a return/refund. TO RECAP: My sister bought an item that failed to perform its only function that same night, so I immediately returned it the following morning to exchange for a new one. And that was an issue, why? I’m not upset, just very confused at the interaction I had..? And SURE ENOUGH, my sister plugged in the new charger and it worked! So I was correct in my assessment that the original charger was defective, and that my issue would be resolved by a simple exchange for another charger. My analysis made sense and ended up being correct! Why did the Walgreens associate have to make it so difficult?"
"I don't know how this Walgreens has such a low rating. I go here at least once a week, and the staff is always polite, helpful and move with a purpose, unlike most retail stores. The pharmacy section is great as well, never had any issues. I guess they could be open a little longer on weekends, but i don't blame them, i mean, who wants to work weekends, lol."
"Very Helpful, Excellent service This was the first time my 15 year old son was shopping on his own while I watched in the distance. The store clerk was walking with my son assisting him on finding all the products he needs for skin care. He even showed us how to download the app to clip coupons and save $$"
"10/07/2022 update. The employees are helpful. Check out is a lot faster now. I just think they need at least one self check out. For customers who know that one item they want, who just want to run in and out."
"This store's pharmacy is extremely slow! The drive through should only be used to service customers with prescriptions that are ready. The inside is even worse! To add insult to injury they close at 7pm and are closed weekends. This leaves about 2 to 3 hours for working individuals to get their prescriptions. I'm currently waiting for my prescriptions and it has been 45 minutes and counting as I write this message....."
