"The staff is super friendly, the food is great, the coffee was absolutely perfect, and I also love the decorations and atmosphere!"
"I've been coming to the Crown Cafe for a little over a year now. I wanted to support this small local business so bad, I love coffee shops- and the mom and pop vibe I got from here was so cute and quaint, I was happy to support this business. I've had little issues in the past with my orders being incorrect and soggy food but the coffee has always been really good. Last weekend I was standing with my friend ready to order an ice coffee before heading home back to NY. There is a local gentleman that comes in and talks to the staff, and it seemed the older gentlemen with the hat working at the register and front was very occupied with his order. We stood there for about 6 min and wasn't acknowledged (which is fine, again I'm being patient I get it..) a woman comes in and cuts in front of me at the counter as the staff member continues to look down and not acknowledge me or my friend who have been ready to order. The staff finishes making the order for the gentlemen and proceeds to help the woman who cuts me in line, acknowledges her and even jokes with her while still completely ignores us. At this point we'd been standing there for about 10 minutes, and the woman states "oh were you in line, what are you ordering" -- This man still didn't acknowledge us. At this point he clearly had an issue with my friend and I (we were the ONLY people of color in the café at this time). I was so upset, I walked out. I didnt want to make a scene and called the cafe a few minutes after leaving. The gentleman at the front who ignored us picked up. I informed him how his actions made me feel, especially being the ONLY people of color at the cafe. I took that time to carefully state that, regardless of my skin tone, customer service wise -- that was pretty rude. If you're a person of color who loves coffee shops, and peaceful ambience -- dont come here."
"Food is decent for the price. Unfortunately when we order over the phone or via Ubereats, something in our order usually gets messed up. In-person orders tend to be more accurate in our experience. But other than that, we love the staff. The environment is very family-oriented and the inside of the establishment feels very homey."
"Walked in after almost a year. Last time I was here the owner was on the back and he had hired actual charismatic people to talk to costumers. I casually asked if he had any breakfast specials and this is what he responded " Ohh yeah we haven't had specials since Biden was elected" What!?. I held my laughter and took a seat to wait for my food. The lackluster attitude this owner gives costumers is mindblowing. Oh and a bacon egg n cheese w a med coffee is like $8.75.... yeah buddy this is Bridgeport."
