Rubi's Coffee and Sandwiches

"Not really sure what is going on in my little town of GB. I have been to Rubi's and keep coming back trying to support the local stores and shops. It has not gotten better and shame of me for second and third chances. I order a grilled cheese and grilled onion sandwich. Paid for it and waited for 30 minutes. The staff was not engaging at all and borderline rude. I paid $14.44 for the sandwich with a $3.00 tip (trying to support those who work for minimum wage). The sandwich could barely be eaten and the onions were not even grilled. But during the time that I was present, two employees who were there, made their own sandwiches (which looked pretty good) and then left. One had finished her shift and the other came from the outside and saddled up behind the counter in the cafe. I or I am hoping the we as a community want to support our local businesses. It is my hope that the owner of this establishment has a conversation with his staff about quality of food and service that the staff provides. The building is beautiful but it will go empty like so many others if people are paying a premium price for poor quality food and service."

"Food is delicious and coffee is good. I have two pet peeves: one is that it's happened twice that I told staff that there was no more soap in the WC and nobody went to refill it. Gross. It wasn't at the end of the day, either. Second, there are a couple of baristas who greet you with a shut-down face and who look like they hate your presence. Why work at a coffee shop if you don't want to interact with people? There are other labor options out there. Friends who are local and who were visiting are also floored by some of the staff's rudeness. Edited to add that the more I ask around me, the more people agree and even stopped coming here because grand majority of the staff's so disrespectful."

"Coffee is good, but cappuccino in paper cup isn't so great (by the way, I asked about cappuccino to stay). The chocolate cookie was good, but chocolate chips are not so good. Can be very busy and I don't like rushes. I was expecting more..."

"Hidden behind Rubiner's cheese mongers is this delightful coffee and sandwich shop. The atmosphere is old school with beautiful tree decor in the dining area. The sandwiches were made with the fantastic cheese from next door and tasted amazing. Highly recommend if you're in the area."
