Reviews
"We have worked with Marty and Dominion Risk Management now for 6 years, over 3 houses and 2 states. Marty gives a GREAT, thorough home inspection for older homes - he truly understands old houses. The houses he has inspected for us were built in 1886 and 1912, or thereabouts. They have character and patina, and he is able to tell us what is just that (character) and what is a real problem and should be addressed. In our experience, his inspections have been accurate and realistic and extremely helpful. I couldn't recommend him more highly."
"I've dealt with Marty for years in varying capacities covering diverse personal home (including realty related) and auto needs. He is so very well spoken of in many quarters, has a wry sense of human and is a man of varied interests and knowledge. His brother Rick has proven equally helpful on the phone, as well as a delightful and consistently go to, get it done Margaret. We are well pleased with Dominion Risk over a number of years."
"Okay, so this is going to sound like sour grapes, but everyone needs to know about this inspection service. He just inspected our house for a potential buyer. One of the key "problems" he found was a poorly designed patio area that he claimed would cause flooding into the family room. He claimed the entire area would need to excavated and re-graded to solve the problem. His inspection didn't uncover a deficiency in design but a deficiency in his knowledge. This patio was designed with input from a civil engineer/architect which included a retaining wall that served a number of purposes, one of which was to divert water run off in the event of an extraordinary event. He somehow failed to notice this very obvious retaining wall. In addition, he did not ask if, we the owners, had ever had a water or flood issue. The answer would have been, if he had asked, that in over 30 years of living in the house, there was never an incident of water coming into the house. That includes our experiences with Hurricane Irene and Sandy."
