Reviews of Bridgeport Family Medicine
"Excellent service, warm, caring and knowledged staff, welcoming atmosphere. Dr Malik is caring and display high level of professionalism."
"Very rude Dr. Malik feels like he’s entitled because he has his degree that he knows what he’s talking about when a client tells him no they believe that they may be more than just having a sinus infection could be a cold. He likes to become rude and tell them. Oh, I have my degree you’re not gonna tell me what I think it is when a patient knows her body and know that it’s more to it as a doctor or a license profession, you post to listen to your client numerous times I had to tell him about his self and when he refers people to his colleagues, they’re very rude and when you tell him about it, he makes it seem like it’s you and it’s not his colleague because he knew them for years would not recommend him he should not have his license. It doesn’t matter how long he been his profession it’s the same way that you speak to people ."
"The Dr. Malik steal $120 dollars and never gave me the document sign for the DOT that I went for because my HBP was too high. Gave me a prescription and told me to come back in 2 days. When I come back in the 2 days he wants to charge me another $120 dollars to sign the paper. I ask why and the secretary told me that the first $120 was to see me and the other $120 is to see me again. I ask her that what is the guarantee that he can sign me the paper that I need to get a job and she said that she doesn’t know. How he going to charge me for the follow up for the same document."
"I went to this office for more than two years now and I have never once met my PCP (Dr. Mailk Awais) even when asked. Every time I go for a visit all I get are assistants. At first, I had no issues with only seeing Physician Assistants (PA) and was open minded as long as I received care. It was eventually very nauseating and frustrating to explain my complications to a new assistant EVERYTIME. Dealing with different personalities and levels of apathy. The lack of care from the assistant are from their knowledge that they are only there for a short time. So why put the effort anyway? Typically, I would spend time answering general questions and having to remind them of what the last thing I said to the last PA I saw. It gets tiring. There are some occasions I would receive the same PA and the appointments are smooth. However, every single time I would have to wait in the middle of the visit because they have to step out and talk to Dr. Malik Awais. It baffles me that nearly every time I visit, they fail to check any previous logs from visits in the past pertaining to me. To be fair there were moments that they have checked during the visit but it's always after the explanation of my complications. One of the biggest pet peeves of mine is that their referral network SUCKS. Like I really mean it, their network sucks. I always start off open minded and hopeful because I go through a lot of pain. Only for their referrals to toy with me, waste my time, assume diagnosis, throw medications at me with a lazy diagnosis, or worse gaslight me. Trust me I am a strong believer of tests, what I am not so fond of are assumptions as they are dangerous. One of my referrals which I waited 5 months for decided to go on a golfing trip and not tell me when I showed up there in person for my appointment. To then move appointment to four months later without telling me. My symptoms are progressing, and my health is declining with no avail. The care received was acceptable and barrable for a few years up until recently. When I told one of my referrals, of the changes that have occurred in three months. He was alarmed and told me to go to the PCP as soon as I could. Which I have and this time for the first time I see a doctor, but it's not Dr. Malik. She was blunt, kind of condescending, rushed me, assumed what the cause was; however, I really needed help and didn't care as long as she was helping me. She gave a whole game plan, spoke about testing being done and placing me on high priority. The plan was to get an MRI and a colonoscopy, to then follow up with her. Her personality was questionable however after two years I felt that I was finally getting the care I needed. Finally, some long awaited tests to really see what was happening. I felt like I could see the light and finally leave all the malpractice assumptions. To then, get a completely different test (X-ray) that really doesn't help with what she assumed it was or had any significant relation to my complications. I questioned in a confused manner, "What the hell did she order and why?". It was a total change from what she told me, but I went on and did it because it could give me some information on what's going on even though I knew it wasn't going to give me much information. Behold it didn't. When I went back for a follow up when the results came back, I was greeted by another two PA's who refused to check my logs from previous appointments and decided to gaslight me... great. Guess what they wanted me to play the same game I played in the past and waste my time re explaining everything. To then, wait for it, go to the PCP for an evaluation. He said that the reason why they had the X-ray sent out just to see if they should continue with the MRI and that there weren't abnormal findings so no MRI. Last time I checked X-ray kind of doesn't show soft tissue/nerves which can be the cause and DING DING what was I there for. The appointment ended up with me getting abused with gaslighting, walking out sad and confused. Losing trust and never returning."
"10/10 would not recommend!!!! Today I went to follow up on a condition I may possibly have and the doctor who spoke to me was very rude and not understanding AT ALL. On top of being a new mom, dealing with postpartum, balancing work and etc. I was chastised about not rescheduling promptly with the specialist that was referred to me regarding that issue. Granted if I HAD the time to reschedule I WOULD have but my new schedule as a full time mother and full time worker just didn’t permit me to do so. As a doctor I thought he would have more grace and understanding but to my surprise all he cared to talk about was how I disrespected the specialist and per his words it doesn't matter what I'm going through I shouldve found the time to reschedule and yet AGAIN per his words he said I most likely WILL NOT be seen by that specialist because that specialist is already weary of people who has the same insurance as me (Husky) I felt embarrassed and outright offended. I got up and left on the spot and will not be looking to go back"
