"Perhaps they are fine for tailoring, but I had a poor experience my first time here for dry cleaning. Enough really to not try them again. I needed a new dry cleaner for business shirts and called around the area for pricing. Called here and it was $2/shirt for a wash and press. Came down with A huge pile of shirts. The owner recognized me from the call earlier and took my shirts. A Tuesday afternoon - said they would be ready Friday. Ok, a little long, but not unusual for a small shop. Went back the following Tuesday to pick up the shirts and after being told I was in the wrong place, I presented my ticket and was told the shirts weren't there and he'd call "the guy". Got a call later that day that he had them. To be honest, I was already on the fence about coming back, but then I went to pay and he gives me a bill for $3/shirt. No signs up, so not really a leg to stand on. Paid him, took my shirts and went. So ended my only experience I'll have here."

"Yesterday I had bought a beautiful vintage dress and was on my way home. The dress needed alterations (specifically, it needed four beautiful buttons moved about an inch in order to make the cummerbund looser so it would fit me in the waist). I needed it done right away because I had to wear it that night. A woman in the store where I bought the dress said she had heard that there was an alterations place in Village Walk in Guilford and gave me directions. I drove there (it's on rte 1) and begged the man who worked there to move the buttons "while I waited". This is unheard of. Alterations places always make you drop it off and come back the next day but I just didn't have the time. So this nice man said he would do it while I waited. So I went next door (to the Four and Twenty Blackbirds Bakery, (a place I had never gone to before and which was also FANTASTIC!) and within 10 minutes when I went back to Express Cleaners & Tailors, the dress was completed. The buttons were moved and he did a fabulous job. The work was impeccable and the man was clearly passionate about what he does for a living. He said he's from Spain and that he learned to be a tailor from the time he was a chlid. When I asked him what the bill was, he said "Five dollars" I was shocked by how cheap it was and by the fact that he was willing to drop everything and do the alteration for me. So I will definitely bring more business to him and I think others should know about this wonderful resource in Guilford!"
