"I was there for a third opinion and I wasn’t sure what the “tone” would be (pardon the pun). It turned out to be a very pleasant and informative experience. Prior to this visit I was tested by an audiologist in training at a big box store. They said I was a candidate for hearing aids but I needed a sign off by an ENT because of concerns that there could be underlying issues attributed to my hearing loss. I then went to an ENT with my test results, however he said they had to perform their own tests. He said their results were much different. He suggested I see their audiologist. He never mentioned any concerns about underlying issues. Instead he went into a hard sell on buying hearing aids from them. I said I would think about it. Then I made an appointment at the Center for Better Hearing. I told them up front why I was there. They then tested me. I was shown the all three test results which were almost identical and they didn’t see a need for anyone to sign off on it. I was very impressed with their honesty and understanding. More importantly there was no pressure to try and sell me the hearing aids. I’m still in a little bit of denial about needing hearing aids but when I decide to go ahead, it will be with the Center For Better Hearing."

"Very professional. I would like to propose that a tutorial be added when new hearing aids arrive. The assumption that we can use all the features without instructions is not realistic. Students can do this if the audiologists object."
