"If I could give this place no starts I would. They took my money for the initial delivery of some couches that never arrived. They agreed to refund me and instead I was charged 2 more times FOR THE MERCHANDISE THAT NEVER ARRIVED. I had to call my bank to file a dispute and try and get my money back. I hate this place I was suppose to have new couches for the holidays, my family was coming over from over seas and unfortunately I had to greet them with plastic chairs and air beds. So embarrassing. They destroyed my holiday experience. This has been the most disturbing shopping experience I’ve ever encountered. They left me on hold many times, always had an excuse as to why the couches had not arrived and on top of that they were rude and unprofessional. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT RENT A CENTER"
"Terrible customer service!!!! The lack of clarity and communication this store had was a waste of my time and energy. The Manager was very nonchalant and showed no empathy for how they conduct business. I've made 4 payments for an item and still have not received it. They had multiple excuses when it came to delivering. (Still no delivery They passed judgment on me because of my rental history even though it's been paid off & approved me for another item. If it wasn't for the price of the item I would have took my money elsewhere! NEVER AGAIN."
"I’m writing this review in reference to the “office manager” Jay at the location on 596 Lenox ave. Jay is very aggressive and unprofessional. First time I encountered his distasteful behavior I had to let him know that this is not the way to speak to a customer. His behavior is unacceptable and disrespectful if you ask me. Second time he called my phone from the very start with an aggressive tone. As a paying customer whether on time or late there is a level of professionalism that should be upheld as a “manager”. It is not ok that I should feel bullied/pressured as a customer. Jay needs to learn or be better trained in his phone etiquette and how he handles/conducts himself. I’ve had two encounters with him via phone and both times was the same aggressive and unprofessional tone. Two encounters is two too many. I have also witnessed being in the store his tone seems to be the same. This type of behavior makes me extremely uncomfortable. I wish that I never purchased anything else from this location. I have purchased furniture from here before when I initially moved to Harlem NY in which I bought out earlier than my contract. But at the time he wasn’t at this location. One things for sure two things for certain when I’m finished with this purchase I WILL NOT buy ANYTHING ELSE from this location. YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR PROFESSIONALISM JAY!! To call him a “manager” representing the Rent-A-Center franchise should be revamped. He is NOT manager material!!"
"Please be careful when making an order in this specific store , I ordered a washing machine online and was supposed to receive a call from someone at the store verifying my order and the delivery date. Noone called so i called the store and spoke with someone who stated he will make the contract and send it to me to my email for me to sign. When i receive the contract i noticed that it said that the washing machine is used so i called the store and told the person i didnt want a used machine , i wanted a new machine , he stated that they didnt have a new machine and that he will order it and call me when they receive it. I Never received a call from them again and went on and bought the washing machine somewhere else. On January 6 , while at work I receive 3 calls back to back from this store , when i pick up i tell the person on the other line that i am working and he keeps calling me back to back , he states "well i am calling you because you owe money" i asked him what do i owe money about and he says "give me a minute let me check" and hangs up. I call back a few hours after and explained to the person that picked up what had happened and he says to disregard and excuse the call that the person that called me earlier is new, i say ok and hang up. Today , January 17 at 3:55 pm i receive another call and the guy says that hes calling about a review that i left online , i say yes. He states that they have a new washing machine that if i need it . I Say no, i bought one aleady and told him to please put me on the do not call list , he starts going back and forth with me telling me that my review is a lie because I was the one that didnt want the washing machine because i got it somewhere else. (Ofcourse i bought it somewhere else you guys never called me back initially for the washing machine). Well i hang up on this gentlemen. If you guys read this review I will appreciate it if you do not contact me again. I Bought a washing machine from this store in 2019 and the service wasnt like this , the people that worked there were very nice and professional."
"The manager at this store is very rude and chose to argue with me and talk over me. I was waiting on a order and the driver wouldn’t leave it with my father. So I called the driver 4 times and he did not answer. Not 8 min later I got home and the driver was gone. I was trying to explain to the driver I was close by. I called the store 4 times as well and the 4th time the manager answered when I tried to explain my situation and tell him his driver has bad customer service. He then got very rude and wouldn’t let me talk nor explain my situation. He just said you will get a refund and hanged the phone up on me. I just received a email about being a customer how does that make sense if I haven’t received my money either ."
