Reviews of New Fairfield Family Practice
"Nurse was great. PA was great. The checkout was great. Need to be more pleasant at front desk. You have know idea what that person in front of you is going through, and you are the first part of their visit. This is why I gave a rating of 2 stars. If each department was separate everyone else would have gotten 5 stars."
"My son has been a patient since he was born. Now at 5 months he had a cold, runny nose, breathing heavy, no fever. My wife was concerned about his lungs. We tried to make an appt but was told with his symptoms to “take him to urgent care” or the doctor could do a telehealth visit, virtual visits wouldn’t be able to check his lungs. We like Dr. Derosa and the nurses but what is the point of having a PCP if everytime my child has a symptom you refer him to urgent care. It’s absolutely ridiculous and needs to be fixed. Covid isn’t going anywhere. Take care of your patients, especially infants."
"I see Dr Fort and his nurse (sorry, forgot your name!) whenever there is an issue. They have been successful in helping me, many times! By far, they are the most reliable, intelligent, charismatic, friendly, med. professionals I've ever been treated by. Dr. Fort, and his nurse have consistently reviewed my treatments and progress with me, and they take the time out of their day to explain the mechanisms and interactions of prescriptions/diseases I'm facing. Highly recommended. They not only let you talk, but they actually listen to concerns/issues and addresse them accordingly, coming up with multiple treatment options. Stop wasting your time with "professionals" who aren't doing what is best for you, and just want to punch a clock."
"I would give this practice 0 stars if I could. I’m on hold for 30+ minutes for any type of appointment. I have been a patient since 2004 and have seen about 6 different doctors because they can’t get anyone to stay. I’ve had follow up appts with Dr.’s scheduled, only to get letters in the mail (three times!!!!) stating they’ve left the practice and I need change my appointment/dr for medication that I’ve been taking consistently. The receptionists are rude and the Dr.’s rush you through appointments. Unprofessional and disorganized. Officially done with this practice, you’re better off going to Urgent Care."
"My pharmacy sent in an e-script. Office sent back “denied”, but did not inform me or provide a reason for the denial. I found out about this when I called the day before I ran out of meds. Pharmacy sent script again and noted that a response was needed. The office never responded. I called the on-call doctor the next day. Waited almost an hour to get a call back from an out-of-state doctor who couldn’t call my script in. I followed ALL of the office’s policies to a T and will now be without meds for at least 2 days. This is not the first time this has happened either. If someone from the office had told me that there was an issue with the script the first time it was called in, I would’ve addressed it right away. I called when I had about 3-4 days of meds left. I did everything I was supposed to do (called 72 hours in advance of needing script; had pharmacy send e-script; made sure to have my 3-month follow up scheduled) and am still being left hanging without any explanation. Do yourself a favor and find a small, private office not associated with Western Connecticut Health Network/Medical Group or the new company that just bought them (Nuvance, I think?). The service here has gone down the toilet in the past few years. I really like my doctor and the nursing staff, but the office staff sucks."
