"I retained this law firm to represent me in my divorce proceedings. The immediate need was to help secure partial custody of my son (I had 0 and only partial access). Given the nature of the issue I was surprised I had to pull teeth and received slow responses and excuses as to why they could not reach my ex-wife's attorney. It continued to get worse with the introduction of COVID-19 to the state and I was informed the courts were closed so no hearings could take place leading me to believe I had to rely on my attorney to advocate/negotiate for my rights and my son's constitutional right to see his father. After a very disheartening exchange where further restrictions had been placed making access to my son even more difficult I had to inform my attorney of the regulations and guidance surrounding COVID-19 (he clearly hadn't done any homework on the guidelines) and that his "advocating" on my behalf which meant talking with her attorney lead to 0 progress and 2 months and $2000 wasted. I consulted with new counsel who informed me that the courts were closed, but could still get agreements in order helping maintain some sort of consistency and normalcy to interactions. What this meant is that I was being extremely under-served. I was crushed to learn this as I have made it very clear how distressing not having my son is and my ex-wife's behavior being permitted with a blanket response of "There's nothing we can do because the courts are closed". I'm not downplaying the difficulty and uncertainty surrounding the virus' impact on the court systems but for hourly rate I'm paying a lawyer I expect them to advocate for my rights and offer a return on this investment and do their job when the law is on your side. I am not giving them one star because they were professional and were not mean or unwilling to listen. The two stars is a reflection on how poor the quality of results and the mishandling and seemingly unwillingness to actually present me with all the options to advocate for custody and access to my son."
"I had the opportunity to see first hand how this firm handles itself in a courtroom situation and was excited as they have a sterling reputation. I was rather disappointed when I realized that one of the named partners Steven Dembo was more interested in winning a case and making sure that a father never saw his little girl again. You see Steve Dembo represented Tiffany Khalily Stevens the mother who hired the hit man to kill her ex-husband and good old Steve-O he made sure that a certain judge heard the case so that the father of the aforementioned little girl literally never saw his child again. Steve Dembo is a lying cheating scumbag to the 9th degree who would sell his mother for $5. Kharma is a funny thing and you never know when it is coming for you? Someday, Justice will be served. You can count on that."
"I just had my collaborative, very creative divorce settlement approved by the CT Superior Court. I was only able to do this with help from my professional, experienced, compassionate and supportive attorney, Barbara Aaron. She guided me in a very open and honest manner throughout the entire process. We examined and projected many possible outcomes with the focus always on what was best for me and my family. Her experience and passion in the Collaborative divorce process made an immeasurable difference in the final outcome. She has a highly professional staff working with her in house. She also knows when and who to reach out to when resources outside the firm are required to best fit the need of the situation. I highly recommend Barbara to anyone going through this difficult process."
"Barbara is an excellent attorney. She was able to help me navigate my divorce and custody issues and got me everything I wanted/needed for my daughter. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and will use her again if anything else comes up."
"Highly qualified, disciplined, saavy law firm with outstanding support for me through a very trying divorce. When I heard who my ex was using, I was a bit concerned. HA!! There was nothing to worry about. Barbara Aaron, her co-workers and I formed a team and solved mysterious family financial comings and goings, got me a great settlement, and referred me to extraordinary professionals to help me transition to single life. I loved their professional approach to the process."
