Reviews of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center
"Place is a joke. My son went last night with an unbearable headache . Was told his blood pressure was high and given a CT scan. First doctor says scan looks good. Neurologist says the scan wasn't properly formatted, so they send my son home and tell him they'll call him today when someone who knows how to read the scan comes in. Guess the first doctor doesn't know how to read scans. Anyway, after waiting all day, my son calls at 7 pm. Doctor calls him back at 8 pm and tells him his scan hasn't been read yet. Keep in mind the pain my son is in hasn't eased up at all in 24 hours. My son is currently at a real hospital that cares about their patients. Utterly disgusting that veterans are treated this way, especially at a medical facility that's for veterans. It's disgusting that any medical facility would treat patients this way (or NOT treat, in this case)."
"This place is like prison. The food is terrible, they keep the lights on in the hallways during bedtime and they talk excessively loud so it’s almost impossible to sleep. A lot of items are also stupidly restricted such as bottled water, yes BOTTLED WATER. You have to drink their own water which I’m not even sure its clean because it tastes like literal dishwater. No cellphones or any kind of device for entertainment is allowed too; Not to mention the TVs are only commercials and have a quality worse than the 1970s. People look like zombies just walking the halls since you can’t do anything other than rest in your room. If this is a place to treat suicidal and depressed people, at least make them happy and entertained in some ways, not restrict items like an airport. The only good thing about here is the understandings of the doctors. Im glad i was able to get out in only 3 days because the doctors understood that my conditions weren’t that severe. Do not come here if you’re feeling depressed or suicidal, seek a 1 on 1 session with a therapist instead. Oh and not to mention they don’t discharge people during the weekends so if you come here on Fridays then i feel sorry for you."
"By far the best detox in the state. I can't say enough about how good I was treated from the moment I walked in. From the front door up to detox and back I received nothing but genuine care. The nurses made sure I was comfortable and the doctors took the time to sit down and discuss a plan that would work for me. I want to thank Dr K and Dr P for getting me off the opiates and on the sublacade literally in a day. This place saved my life. They are working miracles over there and that's the only way to say it."
"I wouldn’t wish this place upon my worst enemy. How they are able to stay open is beyond me. No care for patients whatsoever. They just drug you up and leave you in your room to rot. I have never been to jail but I imagine the food they serve here is even worse. How do you expect sick people to get well with poor nutrition? The check in process is excruciating at best. There was alcohol and drugs all over the waiting room."
"This place is very very bad. If you are going here for mental health, you may end up worse than before. This place needs to be shut down for good. Edit: Don't believe it ? Find out for yourself. I'm not exaggerating. It's baffling to me that this place is allowed to still operate. Look into news articles about the events surrounding this hospital's name change. I can attest to what you'll read. As a previous patient, my opinion is that nothing else changed except for their name. This is not an exaggeration. Edit #2 - Reply to Bergen New Bridge's comment: No, you provoke patients that are in mental distress (to get a bad reaction out of them), to justify keeping them longer, against their will, in order to not have problems with their insurance denying payment. Furthermore, if insurance doesn't cover, and the patient can't, the state will pick up the bill. You are a money-making machine that will never cease to operate because you will never lose funding. It's time this stopped. No more name changes. Bergen County and residents of Northern New Jersey deserve better than you."
