"Stopped in today to look around. I always try to say hello when I make eye contact, and was a bit shocked when the person behind the register looked at me like I wasn’t good enough to be in the shop. I browsed to be polite, but left and decided it’s not for me."

"I am a pretty regular customer at this shop. I’ve been going here since I was a kid. Today I got a book. As I was purchasing the book, the lady at the register looked at me and asked, “Oh, are you going to read this and walk instead of looking at your phone?” I was perturbed by this question. I didn’t even have my phone on me. That is besides the point. Her comment was rude and unnecessary. There are many ways to interpret what she asked, none of which are nice."
