"We moved to Crestwood almost four years ago with the hopes of our children entering a school with a strong set of values, in addition to offering a good education, not only did we find that at Annunciation but we also found a community of wonderful people. With two children at Annunciation (and a third entering kindergarten next year) we've had very positive experiences with nurturing teachers who have a strong focus on academics. It is evident the administration enjoys what they do and truly want the children to succeed. In addition, there are a variety of fun school events filled with not only students, parents & faculty in attendance but also numerous volunteers which is testimony to the thriving parent community. Annunciation is truly like a family and a wonderful place to watch your children grow into bright, respectful young adults."
"I have experienced Annunciation School from three perspectives. First as a student back in the 60s and 70s, then as a parent of three students back in the 90s/2000s and now as a volunteer running the alumni program. As a student, I received an excellent education - a wonderful foundation that allowed me to earn scholarships to high school and college. I also developed lifelong friendships there. Over 40 years later, and I still see some of my classmates all the time! Annunciation was and still is a neighborhood school - where kids can walk to and from school. My sons went there and enjoyed a great education - especially in the critical area of grammar and writing. The universal need to be able to communicate effectively stems from a great foundation in grammar and writing skills. Annunciation was great at teaching it back in my day, and it is still great at teaching it now. In addition, the after-school activities and CYO sports program were things my children loved being part of. In the older grades, there were requirements for service, giving them some of their first firsthand experiences with giving back. Now as the volunteer coordinator of the alumni program, I can see that my experience and the experience of my children was not unique. From our oldest classes (the Class of 1948 was our first graduating class) to our newest graduates, the combination of academics, athletics (basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, track and field and cheerleading), service and a feeling of belonging to something really special carries across the generations. Last year we invited our alumni who were now graduating from high school to come back for a pizza reunion wearing their future college gear. It was an impressive list of colleges and universities that our students go on to attend. I suggest that anyone interested in the school, take a look at the alumni newsletters on the school's website to get a sense of the people who have attended Annunciation and how they still carry what they learned there through their lives. You will want to be part of that kind of school too."
"Our experience at Annunciation has been wonderful both academically and socially. We have a son in the 5th grade, a daughter in the 3rd and another daughter entering kindergarten next year. We moved here five years ago and we are very happy that we made the right choice. Our children are thriving in school. The teachers are very dedicated, talented and caring. The principal, Mrs. Noonan, is very committed to our children and giving them a strong Catholic education where good morals and values are just as important as academics. The school has many educational and fun events each year such as author visits, school musicals, a traveling planetarium, Father Daughter Dance, Family Fun Night, CYO sports, among many other things. We have met and have become friends with so many great, kind families here. We feel truly blessed. I would highly recommend Annunciation."
"I'm a proud parent of 2 Annunciation students. My wife and I have watched them grow and flourish in this wonderful Catholic school. With great leadership from Mrs. Noonan down to the faculty and staff, Annunciation is so much more than a school. It's an extended family and community that enjoys coming together. Beyond academics and after school clubs, there are events for the whole family to enjoy. Annuciation reminds us of our Catholic experience from St. Brendan's parish in the Bronx ('85 & '87)."
"I have three children at Annunciation. My oldest is in 5th grade and has been at Annunciation since Pre-K. I feel happy and blessed to have my children at this school! This school community is absolutely incredible! If a family is in need, the families rally around them and help in all/any way possible. This is a very unique community. The teachers are smart and dedicated. The principal is very committed to the school. She knows each child and wants to see them succeed. The school is excellent academically with almost all of the children going on to top rated Catholic High Schools and colleges. I have nephews who went on to Fordham Prep and are now at Boston College and USC (acceptance rate 16%). Another thing that makes this school special is all the wonderful events that go on during the year. Our Home School Association organizes many fun events for our children. Some favorites include the Father Daughter Dance, Almost New Year’s Eve Party, Italian Night and Family Fun Night. These events are enjoyed by all!!! They also have author visits for the children and this year they had a traveling planetarium program. My kids loved it!! This is a wonderful school with dedicated staff, good children and kind families!! I highly recommend it!!"
