"It's 2022, how do they not accept returns and only do store credit? I wish the associates told me the return policy before I made a purchase. The overall shopping experience was alright, honestly felt like I was being harrassed to purchase perfume at Macy's. I managed retail for years during college and know the sale tactics, so I understood what they were doing to reach their quota, etc. It was honestly overdone to the point where I had 3 different girls tell me the same exact store promo/sales repeatedly when I already heard it from the last girl. Felt too pushed to purchase something when I wanted to shop in peace. I appreciate the help and I know you're offering assistance; and I'm willing to accept the assistance when I need it. In sales I also did learn to really over-help customers that may seem sketchy to steal. If you overly help a customer and they're aware of your presence, they won't steal. I did bring 2 of my girl friends that were minorities which may have provoked the harrassment, who knows. This is just based on my experience and what I learned in sales. Honestly won't shop here again - I do however like Vanilla Sky a couple stores down!"
"Buyer Beware!!!!!! I shopped at Mixology on a Wednesday and was asked by a young sales associate if I wanted a fitting room started. Due to covid, having to wear a mask and not truly knowing what you look like in a garment with your face covered, I asked the sales associate many times if it was okay to buy and return. She said it was not a problem at all and that the return policy was 14 days... no mention of store credit only. I picked $800 worth of merchandise and checked out.. again no mention of the store credit only policy. I returned that Friday (48 hours later) to return all but the 2 items I planned to keep and was told it is a store-credit only policy. The older person working in the store was very aggressive with me. She repeatedly told me her associate would never forget to tell me about the policy to which I responded, if someone would have made it clear, I would have absolutely jumped in a dressing room and tried everything on before purchasing. She continued to argue with me and blamed the misunderstanding on me. She even told me the return policy is on the receipt, which doesn't help if you only get the receipt after you make a non-refundable purchase.. She smelled each article of clothing many times. She asked which of them I'd worn, as if she was trying to coax me into telling her I wore the clothes with tags and am trying to deceive them. Mind you, it had been less than 48 hours since I purchased the items and unless you're changing 4 times a day, it would be impossible to wear 6 dresses and 3 tops in that time frame. I explained to her that my birthday was coming up and I was shopping for a dress or cute outfit and she then asked why I would buy tops if I was originally shopping for a dress. Anyone with retail experience knows the goal is to get the customer to spend more money and buy more things than what they had originally set out to get.. thats how you build a successful retail business. The woman brought me to tears as I was continually told I was wrong. After 30 minutes of crying and being berated, she gave me my money back, however I will never return to a store who treats their customers this way. As someone who does in-store marketing and communications for a global fashion brand, I am well aware that the customer is always right and if there is a miscommunication of a policy or your signage isn't sufficient it is time to do some work internally to fix the external problem."
"The young salespeople were sweet, however the older woman at the register was arrogant and patronizing. No friendly banter, particularly once I turned down her request to provide my personal info. She explained that a store receipt would not be provided without Mixology having my email or phone number. Furthermore without a receipt, she explained, no exchanges would be accepted. Really? Is that legal in NYS not to provide a paper receipt? Not sure.... but nevertheless I was still interested in purchasing the clothes until the woman then decided to delay the entire transaction for several minutes until she wandered off (um where are you going?) to locate a something on the top I wanted (the TAG she sneered to me). No "sorry for the wait" from this store. What am I doing here? I left and found my "bonheur" at Lester's. Vanilla Sky nearby is also very good."
"Such poor customer service, rude, unwilling to help...rather go to vanilla sky next door where they actually care to acknowledge you."
"Poor customer service.. Didn't acknowledge my presence when I walked in and I was the only customer in the store. Didn't buy anything for that simple reason. At the very least, greet your customers when they enter the store instead of gathering around with the other employees talking about what happened last night"
