Reviews of Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark
"We brought the kids for a day. Water park is a bit smaller than I envisioned. The kids had fun but as adults the constant loud blaring of music and the weird lifeguard walks were beyond distracting. Who came up with that wacky robot lifeguard patrol with the head nods and swivels??? On a positive note It was nice to be in the warm environment and as adults we just wished it was more relaxing. The place is definitely lacking maintenance with peeling paint on the chairs and tables. The wave rider employees did great with the kids and we saw the water being tested frequently. The food in the waterpark was overpriced and okay minus the awful popcorn. Overall a one and done for us, expected better."
"My family and I stayed at the Great Escape Lodge last week and had a wonderful time! Being mid-week the water park was far from busy and all of the attractions were clean, open and functioning! Clean room, comfortable beds and a wonderful breakfast! Great Escape Lodge has never let us down, thanks!"
"I’ll start out by saying we’ve had two birthday parties here and have really enjoyed ourselves, I can’t say the same for this last visit. We just stayed or shall I say attempted to this past week. We checked in, went up to the room changed and headed right to the water park. There was no attendant at the door for the water park to check in or get towels. The over all look in the water park was dirty. The lazy river was dirty, pieces of plants floating around, the floor looked like it needed to be scrubbed. The hard water marks all around the walls of the lazy river. Upstairs the rust on all the piping was unreal, the water fountain thing that you can move around right by the upstairs entrance was rusted and paint was chipping all over the place. Totally understand metal and water and rust but like I said we’ve done two birthday parties there and have never experienced that. Not sure if the place gets a facelift prior to March and we’ve just got lucky to experience the clean version or what. We finish up in the water park and head back up to the room, my daughter tells me she found candy under the couch. My husband moves the couch only to find out there’s a ton of candy under the couch. Heaven forbid it was a family with a small child who didn’t know enough not to put it in their mouth or if it wasn’t actually candy. So now we leave for dinner, only to open the door and have a young boy maybe 9 years old walking around the halls with only his underwear on asking everyone if they knew where the washer and dryer were. We stayed mid week hoping for it to be quiet and not as busy as usual. We were wrong we wound up driving the hr and half home to sleep because the room next to us was so loud no one could sleep and it sounded like there was elephants on the stairs. We went back the following morning to check out I informed the desk of the issues the previous night and how we went home to sleep. She told me to hang on one second went to a room behind the front desk and came back and her reply was they would inform the housekeeping staff they weren’t cleaning under the couch. My family has enjoyed every experience we’ve had here prior to this one. The next time we’re looking to visit an indoor water park we will be looking elsewhere."
