Reviews of Haverstraw Waterfront Promenade Park
"Love to walk around there"
"In what seems like a cruel practical joke, the waterfronts at both ends of the Ossining-Haverstraw Ferry have been scourged by P_e_t_e_r Lu_nd_be_rg sculptures! See my review of Henry Gourdine Park for more info about the "Eye of Sauron" in Ossining. Here on this side of the river there is also a "sore on eye" PL sculpture. It is tragic that people who wish to enjoy the beauty of the riverfront must be confronted by this blight and horror. The Ossining-Haverstraw Ferry is a great upstate day trip for people in the city. They can take the train from Grand Central to Ossining and the ferry terminal is just a few minute walk. They can ride the ferry to Haverstraw and then come back. It is a pleasant and most scenic outing, but with these insidious behemoths blighting the landscape on both sides, the experience is horrendously spoiled. I would recommend a day trip to Storm King Art Center instead. You can't entirely rely on public transportation to get there and back, but they have had the good sense and judgment not to have had any P. L. sculptures on display there for 12 years now. It definitely makes for a much more enjoyable outing!"
"Perfect for an easy stroll by the water"
"BEAUTIFUL! To live here is a bit on the expensive side matches the cost of the home but the taxes and fees. But if you can afford it, go for it! The place is awesome and has great people who live in it"
