"Love to hike here, but this place is a target for motor vehicle break-ins. The amount of people robbed at this location is astronomical. These individuals are very skilled at stealing and getting as much out of you as humanly possible in the shortest amount of time. Why the police don’t do anything about it I will never know. I was one of those people, and I have not been back since, which stinks because I used to really enjoy it there, but I’m not going to risk it again."
"If you live in Stamford, it will be the shortest drive to a hiking area where you won't be walking in circles. Lots of dogs and bikes, but not a problem. Much better to walk on weekday and/or unusual hour, since you might struggle to even find parking on 10am on a Saturday."
"No cell service there. Road is gravel, not for strollers or road bikes. A lot of hills as well. The lake and river are filled with algae. Great park for dog walk"
"A nice place for a walk with many intersecting trails. There's a few beautiful homes bordering the park. Today's walk was particularly nice as it was cool but not cold, and the fallen leaves make for a pretty sight. There's ample parking at the Greenwich parking lot."
"A whimsical wonderland of many trails to choose from for all different skill levels. I entered on the Stamford side which has two levels of parking lots that are smaller and fill up quickly. I parked by the old red barn and walked over the bridge and entered the trailhead at the starting point. I had intentions of doing the 4mi loop around and started out on that trail following the yellow markers which then turned into green/ yellow and did not end up back where I started. The markers were a little confusing and I didn't feel it was accurate to the map. I loved the trails! From the River Trail along the water, to passing big boulders of rocks, the park was beautiful. I did however come out on the Greenich side and found out I was on the complete opposite side of the park of where I had parked. With this being my first time here, it was a little difficult to navigate. Talked to a few locals who were able to give me directions back. It was a great 7mi walk with a few bumps in the trails : )"
