Sawmill Park, located at 172 Iron Street in Ledyard, Connecticut, is a beautiful park featuring an operating water-powered nineteenth-century sawmill. The park is open to the public every day of the year, offering visitors a chance to explore the picturesque mill pond, wood bridges over Lee Brook, and the historic mill buildings.

The Ledyard Up-Down sawmill is a rare example of a water-powered up-and-down sawmill, restored to operating condition in the 1970s and operated by volunteers. Visitors can witness sawing demonstrations on Saturday afternoons in the spring and fall, free of charge. The park also features a blacksmith shop, circular sawmill, shingle machine, ice harvesting tools, gristmill, and other mill artifacts for visitors to explore.

Owned by the town of Ledyard and administered by the Ledyard Historic District Commission, Sawmill Park offers a unique glimpse into the history of sawmills and milling technology. "Interesting place to visit. Nice setting to visit and take photos. The blue heron didn't seemed thrilled with our presence but we tried not to disturb it too much.The swings were fun also."

"Beautiful area to come for a walk or sit by the water! The bridges and Sawmill are beautiful. It was quiet when we went so we were also able to walk our dog on her leash which she loved!"
