Reviews of Stoddard Hill State Park Scenic Reserve
"This place is great, take the left trail along side the cliff and then follow the blue trail all the way back around, down a huge hill (find a walking stick, there’s a pile at the bottom) to where the 1700’s cemetery is and back to the parking lot. A nice hike"
"Driving by on the way to another hike we saw this boat launch and decided that it would be a good place to have lunch and look at the water. As we pulled in we saw that there looked like a little trail heading off into the woods. We started to follow the trail and found that someone had marked a trail with red ribbons. We followed it not knowing what to expect as if wound along the train tracks and up into the woods. It follows the edge of the mountain and loops back to put you on the top of the hill overlooking the Thames River. As soon as we got to the top of the mountain we were met by a forest ranger who was very happy to see that someone had started a trail. The way back down to finish the loop is a little iffy but still safe enough to traverse. As you get to the bottom you come across an old grave yard, and I do mean old. Most of the graves are from the beginning of the 1800s. Someone is rebuilding them and is putting a lot of love and care into it."
"No swimming allowed. It's a nice place to watch nature, get some fresh air and/ or read since it was very quiet when I went there."
"This is a beautiful place where you can over the train tracks and see people fishing there's a beautiful Lake also there's no much to do there but it's fun to just lay back and relax"
