Reviews of Machimoodus State Park
"Great place for a walk in the woods to see the Connecticut River and nice views. Also, walking on one of the trails we found a bunch of old metal debris, part of it looks like a plane, see my pics for details. Also there is plenty of parking here and it is easy to get to. Next door, it is not well advertised, but there is another state park that also goes down to the Connecticut River"
"Definitely a beautiful area to check out with lots of trails in the back they are marked but not very well you will walk along Salmon River lot of dogs here that were unleashed which is pretty nice . Also you will see the old abandoned resort."
"Trails well marked, dreary day but flowers budding. Pretty walk with pretty views definitely not a difficult hike"
"Nice park, pretty quiet and there are a lot of trails. There is also a really nice view of the river and a field behind that you stand on. You can also find other trails that go near the river and wind around where the old sunrise resort used to be. You can ride your horses here, walk your dogs, or just go for a nice walk."
"This park is really beautifully maintained with clear markings of where the trails are and lots of picnic tables all over the place. Most of the trails are easy to moderate but, there are some difficult hills. This is a great park to go hiking if you are recovering from some form of injury. My only issue with this park is the fact that it is easy to miss the entrance to the parking lot since there is no Main Entrance sign."
