Naugatuck River Walk
About the Business
The Naugatuck River Walk, located in Thomaston, Connecticut, is part of the Naugatuck River Greenway (NRG), a designated Connecticut State Greenway that consists of open and green spaces along the Naugatuck River. The NRG Trail, a non-motorized multiuse trail, is currently being developed to follow the river for 44 miles through 11 communities from Torrington to Derby, connecting these green spaces and providing a non-motorized transportation option.
This institution supports tourism and economic development, as well as improving the health and quality of life of residents. The open sections of the NRG Trail already provide a high-quality and attractive corridor accessible to users of all abilities. Efforts are underway to connect existing sections with parks, waterfront promenades, overlooks, and river access all being integrated into the plans. The Naugatuck River Walk harnesses the vitality of the river for the benefit of the region's residents, creating a beautiful and functional space for all to enjoy.

"It was real short and vegetation was to high in most places to see or even get to the river"
"It's a placeholder for an eventual park and trail. Right now it's a 1/4 mile of trail, two forlorn picnic tables, and a water fountain. Restroom is locked"
"Nice Parking lot, also nice paved short walking path along the Naugatuck river. They also have a few picnic tables right down by the river. My dog and I enjoyed the nice clean short walk along the Naugatuck river. We will definitely be going back. βοΈ"
"1/4 mile of wide tarmac track and an information board that didn't show your location on the planned, contructing and constructed route. Car Park. Water fountain. Picnic tables. Access to river."
"While I enjoy my walk and it was nice and flat and appears to be well maintained the trail is exceptionally short. At one point I was standing by the end of the trail and I could see the building that is supposed to be the bathroom at the other end of the trail. Also the bathroom is not open and is just pretending to be some sort of utility building."
