"I have been to this fountain several times and the grandeur of the setting makes quite an impression. …At the base of capital hill in Hartford, The sculptor and the benefactor clearly did not understand native Hartford cultures, as the indigenous people portrayed seem to be mostly plains Indians. With historical inaccuracies aside, it was made in the late 1800s and an homage to the patrons father but also to indigenous people of this area. I for one love it, it’s beautiful and in need of some TLC. But overall worth a stop to see it. The one distraction was the homeless woman washing her clothes in the fountain, but that is a discussion fir another day."

"Please where you can rest and hang out with friends out of the city noice. Great view at the capital building. The fountain itself is very interesting. There are four different native Amerikans 90 degree apart, and on the top there is deer or antelope or something similar."

"Gorgeous fountain in the middle of a spacious field which lies at the foot of the hill in front of the state Capitol building. If you are near Bushnell Park, stop to see this, the CivilWar arch, and the carousel."
