"It's worth the hike to the Falls. There are two entrances to the park to get to the falls. One from New York state is longer but flat and the other one from Massachusetts is steep but shorter."
"We had a great time at Bash Bish State Park, enjoying the falls. We parked in the Massachusetts lot and took a pleasant walk through the woods. The falls were quite impressive. Visiting on a Thursday meant there weren’t many people around. We couldn’t help but notice that the big rock in the center looked like a nose, and now we can’t un-see it! The walk back uphill was quite steep. We’d recommend parking and walking from New York if you want to avoid the climb back."
"Beautiful gorge created by Bash Bish Brook. Park at NY side of the park as it is much easier incline to falls and back, rather than precipitous drop from MA side. Now, stairs to the bottom of falls are closed with multiple warnings not to cross the lines. Certainly covers the state’s legal responsibility at the cost of diminished experience of the falls."
"Not a favorite due to crowds, construction & lack of updates on conditions. The Falls area was accessible from only one side and the falls were surrounded w construction tape. No place to sit and relax and a very short walk. Maybe better for families or groups w varied abilities & less hiking experiences to compare. Super busy parking lot and trail walk."
"Awesome place! See pics on recent closure of staircase down to falls. On weekdays (fewer people) you can imagine you’ve gone back in time to an unspoiled area. Went 7-20-23, water rushing from recent rains, most I’ve seen since maybe post hurricane. Trails seem to have taken a hit from rain displacing rocks/dirt on trail esp.NY side. A few folks went around barricades down to falls. Frankly, if the park were to advise about young man’s drowning death a couple summers ago, barricades may make more sense. Years back, I personally witnessed another young man losing footing (off trail) to the left of the falls and breaking leg as he slid down steep hill. That said, it’s easy to stay safe and enjoy this amazing place, even with kids who are old enough to do some moderate hiking. Pretty good deli down the road on NY side with sandwiches, ice cream, snacks."
