"Chef Joy and Katherine were great, especially Joy. She was so talented and fun to learn from. This was our first cooking class (my son and I) and we really enjoyed every minute. Will definitely be signing up for more classes in the future."
"Paid for two reservations to create holiday cookies…$59 each. Arrived about 2 minutes after 4… was supposed to start at 4…no one else was in the kitchen area when we arrived. Chef was still “preparing” and said walk around store for a few. This was a birthday surprise for my granddaughter who was turning 6…she had school the next day and I had other places to take her too…but, on with the experience. We get started…about 8 people total…first thing I notice is that everyone received individual dough but me and my GD….however, we did have a large amount….but, we did buy two reservations. Next thing is each person received a tray to put their dough on…with the exception of me and my GD and when I asked was told we could share with another person…mind you, we are all doing this with our hands and no gloves… Again…we are now having to add our cookies to a shared tray. As we are making our cookies and the time is going by, the chef is literally making frosting…so for almost an hour we are using the same 3 colors…red, green, white….apparently we were going to take a break and have more colors to decorate with when we returned. I say all this to say…it was unorganized…the price was not worth it, we didn’t get ‘what we paid for’…ALL the frostings should have been ready when we arrived…we should have had our own cookie dough (like everyone else) and for sanitary purposes we definitely should have had our own tray….and oh yes…we paid to have all of this…we left when she had us take a break, my GD was elated and I was elated to have done this with her…but let’s be clear, when you’re charging $60 bucks to bake holiday cookies per person…then per person should get per items and everything that comes with it…meaning the yellow frosting and whatever else she was preparing that should have already been prepared… #wasntimpressed"
"Absolutely fantastic Macaron class with Jillian. This class was amazing, and the macarons we made are literally the best I've ever had. Jillian was a great instructor, and the two hour class flew by. My wife and I also asked for Jillian's help with picking out some a new saute pan and frying pan set. (This had nothing to do with the class, but Jillian helped us during a break, and we picked up great pans from the "Scanpan" brand in the shop... with a 10% discount, since we took the class.) My wife is cooking with the new saute pan right now, and it's obviously the best pan we own. I forget his name, but a gentleman also helped us pick out some accessories (which were buy 2 and get 1 free). The overall total came to less than we were expecting, and the entirety of the experience was wonderful. Super professional. All staff were friendly. And, once again... Jillian really knows her stuff. These Macarons are awesome!"
"Very disappointing experience at this store. My fiancé and I came in to inquire about doing a wedding registry. When we asked ELAINE, the woman behind the counter, she very rudely shook her head at us and just said “NO! You have to do it online!” That was it. No “sorry,” no “congratulations your engagement,” no “is there anything else I can help you with?” Her tone and attitude were extremely rude like we were putting her out or something. We just bought a new house too so it would have been nice to just have someone to take us around and help us think about the stuff we might need. Or give us ideas for the registry. We were so excited to be doing our registry and her attitude really killed the vibe. To boot, as we were walking around the store, none of the people who worked there even bothered to ask if we needed any help. Most of them were just fiddling around on their phones. No wonder this location already went out of business once before. Needless to say we won’t be registering with Sur La Table and we won’t bother shopping at this store any more."
