Reviews of J & C Kitchen and Bath
"They are best in town for quality and custom cabinets i visit 5 mayor store around now one was close to then in quality and service..MH East Haven"
"Joey Cui and her husband Kash are the most unprofessional business owners I have ever experienced. If I could rate 0 stars I would. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Kash did our cabinet install and he does not know how to properly read a level or use a drill. Not one thing in our kitchen is level, he cracked multiple cabinets, chipped paint, and left nails sticking out of the toe kick and molding. Sloppy work all around. Caulking all over the cabinets. When we asked him to come back and take a look at all the issues - he did and his response was that “we fix it ourselves” or “ I rip all the cabinets out “ he stood in our kitchen pouting with his arms crossed actually convinced the work he did was good and worth the money we overpaid. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. They are thieves. Negligent, sloppy, lazy, hack job. Now that they’ve been paid Joey will not respond to my emails and Kash will not take our calls. Truly left with no other option than to expose them for the wildly unprofessional and unqualified kitchen cabinet installers that they are."
"Joey and Kash have been a blessing to me and my business. They have the best prices around on kitchen cabinets by far! They are professional, honest, and transparent. I've used them for 3 kitchens so far and couldn't be more pleased. I will continue to use them and recommend that anyone else that wants attention to detail, the best prices, and fastest turn around times use them as well."
"I hired this business when my kitchen had only painted sheetrock and floors, to add cabinets, crown molding all around kitchen and quartz counter tops. Kash came over 2x to measure before they provided me with a design and a written agreement. I'm a home owner with no experience reading the design specs, except the 3D modeling layout part, which only showed from top down, thus a completely innapropriate and oversized 36" escaped me. When Kash started the cabinets installation work, the nightmare also started. He simply cannot or doesn't bother to accurately take measures: they provided me with a 36" wide cabinet for a corner wall which was oversized, thus the cabinet not only became a harzard at the corner, but at some points, it went beyond the wall corner! I politely pointed it out and requested a replacement. They refused to replace it for a smaller one unless I paid for it, and had the nerve to blame me for their own design and measurements, after coming to measure kitchen space twice. Then, I look inside the cabinets, to find out they used black dry wall to drill inside my cabinets, without as much as a washer, effectively destroying all internal cabinet areas surrounding every single screw. It's also worth mentioning kash showed up and worked inside my house shirtless. As unprofessional as everything else about them. At this point, I decided I'd have someone else do the crown molding installation since it's a skilled job, which Kash had shown to have none. I had another contractor come give me a quote. The guy pointed out that the cabinets were crooked and unleveled and he'd have to re-isntall some of them. Both, upper and lower cabinets. I reached out to J&C Kitchen and Bath and put in a request Kash came back to not only level the cabinets. but finish work I had already paid for and he never completed.. They initially refused. Then they remembered that the stone had been cut, and that was the only thing they hadn't yet been paid for. At that point, I had paid for work he had never completed, such as installing handles fillers, and baseboards. After lots of back and forth , I agreed to have Kash come back to install the quartz counters, which, according to him, had already been already cut cut, and finish the cabinetry work, including leveling the cabinets. At that point, and after having a written agreement, they demanded another few hundred dollars for the counter top, because, again, Kash had supposedly mis-measured. As aggravated as I was at that point, I agreed to pay because I needed a kitchen asap. Another nightmare ensues. When he said he was finished, I told him to please send me an invoice and that I'd send him a check that week. He became beligerant and not only demanded payment right there and then, he demanded CASH, which I did not have. To get him out of my house, I ended up sending him venmo payment. I thought that at least then, the nightmare would be over. Once he left, I took a closer look at my cabinets and counter tops, I was horrified. He never leveled the cabinets or the counter tops! I had to hire someone else to cut the seal of the quartz and insert shimmers, both between counter top and cabinets but also between side panel of dishwasher(which had to be removed and re-isntalled), and floor since there was a huge gap once this counter was appropriately leveled by another contractor. J&C kitchen refused to reimburse me for the oversized cabinet, blamed me for the flawed design, and "as a favor" tried to sell me a 30" cabinet for an extra $100. Now I have a 36" cabinet I was forced to take down, destroyed, wherever Kash inserted drywall screws in it, sitting on my basement. After two days, I discovered a major issue: my quartz counter top is crooked! A whole front of one the counters is completely crooked. One end starts with the counter hanging a few inches over the cabinets, as it should, to start angling inwardly toward the other side, with the counter ending up flush with the lower cabinets, as opposed to hanging over it, as it started and should be!. It looks awful."
"If could ZERO Stars. Very disappointed in this company. Buyers beware when you have to pay in full before they will start your install. Zero follow up to the poor craftsmanship related to their work. Random holes drilled in the cabinets to fasten to the walls, black dry wall screws used for hanging and cabinet to cabinet fastening, broken hinges, missing panels, none of the hinge trim installed and shredded shelve edges from cutting shelving with a bad saw blade. They also installed the Granite and did not caulk the joint at the wall leaving a 3/8” gap for water to run down behind the sink. One hinge completely broken and again no way to get them back Kash actually had the nerve to insinuate that he was doing me a favor not charging me for a replacement hinge. The best part is that not only did Kash refuse to fix his substandard work he would not release the materials to do the repairs until it was paid for and we are talking 20-30 dollar items. One of the replacements parts was 8’ length and I had a difficult time getting them to drop it at the house less than a ½ mile away Kash actually suggested I go rent a truck to bring the part to the house while he was loading his truck for a delivery. After showing him how to fit it in his truck he reluctantly agreed to drop it off. Bad news not work any savings I have spent almost as much on repairs as his install and some of the items are permanent damage. Their response is a complete misrepresentation of the facts. The panel that they dropped off for free was the wrong color, and we called in a carpenter to install but he was unable to do the work because of the wrong color. We not only had to pay the carpenter for his time as well his return to install the correct color panel, and we were also charged for the corrected panel. As far as their customer service department, there is NONE!"
