"I discovered this jewel of a store by happenstance. My lucky day! Alex is not only a talented designer -but his patience and taste are bar none. He is helping with updating my home and his ideas and assistance are truly innovative. He has an amazing color sense and placement and I am thrilled with the final outcome. He transformed a dull dated room into a true masterpiece. I am so proud to entertain in this beautiful space. I highly recommend a trip to his store in Pine Plains! As an aside I bought all my Holiday gifts there as well … great ideas at all price ranges!"

I walked out with two fabulous pillows, an amazing lamp that complimented my artwork beautifully, and a sheepskin throw in the perfect shade for my sofa. He was thoughtful, and patient and helped me with my selections offering constructive advice and feedback. Not at any time did I feel any pressure to buy. "I spent hours trying to buy a particular lamp online recently. Many of the sites I looked at indicated it was back ordered for weeks to 4 months. Others showed the lamp as available when it was not. I finally called the mfg. and was informed that the lamp is discontinued, they have no stock and the websites are”mistaken” that they will be re-supplied. Deterred, but not quite ready to give up, I somehow came across Demeter Home website which pictured the lamp I wanted.
