"Update: Found out recently (2 months after deck install was completed) that Dwain never closed out the permit for it. The Inspector just happened to drive by while the deck was being built and he stopped in to check what's going on. Dwain was rude to him, while one of his workers was polite and helpful. He started the deck install WITHOUT a permit! The deck was completed not 100% up to code, and has faults, but not bad enough not to pass the inspection. The gate also did not close properly and I had to adjust the door to fit properly. We desperately tried to reach out to Dwain and his company, only to be met with silence, he ghosted us and we had to resolve the permit and gate issues ourselves. Considered filing a small claims court paperwork against Dwain and The Decksperts, but decided it's not worth the additional headache. Probably skip hiring this company, or keep a close eye on the permits/legal stuff and make sure everything is closed out before the work is completed. --------------------- We got a small cute deck put in. Dwain and his guys were extremely helpful, walked us through our options and helped us figure out what would fit our pool best. They were punctual, started work around 7am and finished each day around 4pm."
