"If I could give 0 stars, I would. Please I'm begging you don't come to this school, its for your own good. Teachers disrespect you 24/7, unprofessional and down right disgusting. The amount of hatred teacher for their student is evil. There isn't even clear air in the bathroom, you can't breath with all the smoke in the air. The racism isn't even tried to be hidden. They disregard every culture except for the white one. Run, hide, and get out of cheney NOW! Cheney is equal to a garbage can,on fire, underwater, in a dead whale"
"ugh...Cheney Tech, the place where you aren't even allowed to go on freaking soundcloud! the Aleks program is an absolute joke! they don't even let you go onto your own personal account when you sign into your chromebook. "oh no! they want to have unrestricted access to the internet! i know, let's take away every bit of freedom they had and flush it down the toilet! there is no way this'll make people livid! hur dee durr" the only SLIGHT redeeming qualities about this school are the shops, and the clubs, and even then! some shop teachers don't even help you that well! you'd more than likely be better off teaching yourself! The clubs however, are fun and can help people socialize with those who like what they like. This school could be so much better if it didn't restrict internet access, if it didn't have Aleks, if just decided to have more club days than just one club day every month, and if it didn't make us wear these stupid uniforms! But, I doubt my words will do anything after all...i'm just a mere sophomore. have a good day."
"Only one complaint - the ALEKS math program used takes away from real learning and child to teacher engagement/interaction. The "shops" are great; exploratory allows student to try different areas out, hands on. Academics are not bad. Staff is helpful when I have contacted them. Bus transportation is greatly appreciated. Cafeteria food selection could probably be better."
"I'll be going into my sophomore year at Cheney this late August. Some parts are okay, despite faculty that will stare at certain body parts, and students that are ALLOWED to touch another person wherever they please at any given moment, and administration will turn heads. Substitute's think they have a say in what you wear, and will turn students against each other quite easily. And not to mention the homophobic, racist, and unprofessional teachers. Not all are like this however!!! Some are wonderful individuals. Not saying names, but most of you know who I'm talking about exactly. Its fine for someone to YELL about how ignorant African Americans are, I brought this to the principals attention, he was suspended. THEY WERE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE PUNCHED A LOCKER. DISGRACEFUL! Make wise decisions guys."
"Hello, I am a Sophomore currently enrolled in a separate school but attended Cheney for my fresham and half of my sophomore year. Cheney tech is a nightmare. Teachers at this school do not care about the kids and often turn their heads when they see things that definitely should be reported to administration. However administration is just as bad. Often telling you to write a statement and then disregarding the incident. I was being severely bullied at this school, I went to administration and they had me right a statement. After completing a statement i had to go back EIGHT separate times, just to talk to an actual administrator. My parents contacted the school and the school told them that the problem was under control. It was not. They placed me in all classes with my bully and said it was mediation. After leaving school for a week due to a loss of a family member i came back to school and was placed on suicide watch at the school all because someone said i was missing from school because i was "suicidal". They placed me in a room all alone for a entire day. Upon returning the next day, i was jumped on school property and was told i was making it up. I developed both Anxiety and depression so bad that i missed a month of school. While at home, we received death treats and bullets thrown at our property. Town police do not get involved because it is a state school. State police didnt find it important. I returned to school after my medical leave and was discriminated against for everything i did. I was known as the suicidal girl, yet was never actually suicidal. Teachers, administrators and police were involved but were on my bullys side. No teacher ever stood up for me. I left Cheney tech in April and i am STILL being harassed by the kids at the school. I am permanently affected. I have diagnosed PTSD from some of the things i was put through that i can not list online. The children in that school are mostly racist and teachers are as well. Some kids are meant to be at that school others not so much but i hope your child or yourself does not encounter any issue at the school because your problem will never get fixed. I had to forfeit a rewarding career in the trade i loved, to go to my towns public school because of the people at Cheney tech. I went from being an amazingly happy teenager to someone who is on 5 different medications every day just to function without have panic attacks & someone who has nightmares and flashbacks. I dreamed of going to Cheney, Now i wish i had just gone to my towns public school originally."
