"Honestly, besides Julian customer service here is abysmal. I don’t know where they keep getting these new hires but I can’t believe how rude they can be. They also refuse to tell you when you sign up about the 53 dollar “yearly fee”. Listen, I understand that there are fees that come along with a gym membership, but at least have the decency to tell your customers about them before you lock them into a year contract! Besides that, the gym is constantly out of order and it really isn’t that clean (the Total Fitness room has been closed due to mold). I will say that it isn’t the worst gym ever, but I think that there are definitely better options for those who want a calmer environment."
"Been trying to use the 30lb dumbbells for about 2 months. I’m certain they exist and aren’t just legend, I’ve just yet to see them next to their assigned home. Maybe another set or two? As of right now they’re holding down the flooring next to a guy leg pressing 3 miles from the DB rack. **update: There’s 4 people at the dumbbell racks and NO 35’s or 30’s. People just take them and go into another dimension. Check your cameras. It was a very corporate response but i have photos and timestamps. Just get more dumbbells instead of calling people liars."
"I like the gym but the hand sanitizers in the class rooms have been emptied since the summer I told staff and they still have not been replaced. Unsure how that is not part of the cleaning peoples jobs to make sure it is full"
"Layout of the gym isn't very functional. So much space is dedicated to cardio machines, specifically treadmills, that are unused. Meanwhile, the weight room is crowded with people with limited machines/floor space. I tried to check for classes online & the website keeps sending me in circles trying to get me to join (I already have a membership), instead of letting me take advantage of my benefits. It seems like they don't actually want people to workout here"
"Decent Gym nothing more than that. The machines/cable area aren’t kept up with. Nothing is lubed up which leads to no smooth movements in your exercises. Not to mention the sound of some (not all) the equipment you can hear across the gym because it isn’t kept with. They also decided to put lights on in the mens sauna recently which takes away the whole relax zen vibe to a sauna which you’re supposed to have when sitting in 180 degrees. Hamden Edge is way more kept up with in my opinion."
