Reviews
"Think twice or three times before placing trust in this auctioneer's word, or their expertise. This review will be updated to reflect additional information however in early March 2022 this auctioneer acknowledged that valuable consignments were mailed to their office for an April 2022 sale, prior to a consignment deadline. Despite receiving the consignment within 2 days of the (online-only) sale's deadline, they did not place any of it in the sale -- nor communicate that the material was not in the sale. They acted indignant when asked why it was not in the sale, in addition to acting like their failure to communicate was somehow the consignor's fault. Instead of withdrawing the material, we waited for next month's auction, while the auctioneer John Reznikoff wheeled and dealed behind the scenes. Without ANY authorization or communication, Reznikoff mailed at least one of our consignments to one of his private collectors, who then failed to mail it back in time for the May auction, wasting even more of our valuable time! We have all of this in emails from Reznikoff who -- when he received complaints about 1) the lack of communication 2) lack of promotion of consignments and 3) mailing our consignment to third parties, who don't return it -- Reznikoff packed up ALL of our consignment and sent it back. Even items that had current bids in the current auction. This is an untrustworthy outfit from start to finish. Don't be fooled by planted reviews. Collectors beware. UA has no respect for what you do. John Reznikoff is not an authority in anything except being a vendor skimming off both sides and pretending to be expert. Look up his recent shoddy authentications of fake Marilyn Monroe hair that was sold to Ripley's Believe it or Not! Search: Reznikoff Autograph Fraud and check the results."
"If I could give 10 stars as my recommendation, I would. I first met John at a show in NY back in the early 90's. I am not rich but I wanted to complete a set of presidents. He treated me as if I was a millionaire. I provided me with advice and now it has been over 30 years I have known him and he is still just as friendly and helpful as ever. If you have a bad word to say about John, then you are holding a grudge that is all in your mind. His auctions are always overwhelming. He IS the number one person in the world to put your faith in on building your collection or starting one from scratch."
"I have bought items from University Archives for six years now. John Reznikoff is the top expert in this field with no close second. I have always bought with confidence and have had everything I’ve purchased past full authenticity! His staff is one of a kind And I go a step further and say that his staff is the best in the business."
"Great selection of historic memorabilia. Very professional people, made me feel very relaxed and confident regarding dealing with them. I will definitely be a repeat customer!"
"I’ve bought a number of things from University Archives over the past couple of years and some have been rather expensive! But, I love them all AND getting John’s certificate showing authenticity gives me GREAT COMFORT when buying! It’s Christmas 2021 and I’m interested in some 36 items coming up in their January 6th auction - and I can’t wait!!! Bottom line, trust and accountability and integrity in this business are EVERYTHING and I’m the most comfortable buying expensive collectibles from John and University Archives!!"
